I haven't had these bars in a couple of years.These bars used to have a true 'Candy Taste' to them.Diet 'sweets' are meant to 'emulate' actual sweet things in order to help with cravings.Many would complain about the 'sickly sweet' taste, while forgetting that drinking nothing but water when training will make any form of 'sweet substitute' (healthy or otherwise) taste 'sickly sweet'.Well, it seems that Phd listened to the 'complainers'...The taste now is absolutely vile - to the point of being vulgar.It is nothing like an 'emulation' of 'Birthday Cake' in any way shape or form, it is somehow tasteless but leaves a nasty, bitter aftertaste at the same time.A complete waste of money.As I don't think I can bring myself to finish the box.Shame - with these bars , Phd used to be market leaders on taste.I will wager 'good money' that those same people that 'complained' about the original taste, will NOT be eating these.

Birthday Cake is the best tasting bar out of the 6 PhD smart bars I've tried so far. Even the kids love it. You cannot go wrong buying those. Even the middle part, which let's all the other bars down, is really good in this bar. You gotta hide those bars from the rest of the family or else they will be gone before you get to it. xD

I've been eating these bars for over a year now and loved them! Birthday Cake was probably my favourite Smart Bar.........but then I bought a box recently.First of all the colour and texture has changed, the bars just don't look very nice now very a strange dark coloured centre. But worse of all is the taste, seems ok at first although a bit off but then the terrible after taste kicks in!Unfortunately won't be buying these anymore :-(Unfortunately I was so put off by the new flavour that I had to throw away the rest of the box and reluctantly i'll be avoiding these from now on which is such a shame :-(

Die PhD Riegel im Geschmack Birthday Cake waren meine absoluten Lieblingsproteinriegel, bis die Rezeptur geändert wurde. Seitdem schmecken mir diese überhaupt nicht mehr. Ich werde sie nicht mehr kaufen und stattdessen auf eine andere Marke zurückgreifen.
High in saturated fat
The bar tastes good , not exactly like a bday cake , but has a yummy strawberry-white chocolate flavor . But be aware of a high saturated fat. Also ,got 11 bars instead of 12 :(
