Unfortunately this product is no longer available. To use this Philips Satinelle Essential Corded compact epilator, first remove the epilator from its packaging. Clean all removable parts with warm, soapy water. Attach the epilation head CP1512/01. Plug in the epilator and select your desired speed setting. Press the start button and gently move the epilator against the direction of hair growth for smooth skin.

I bought this as a stop gap after my much, more expensive epilator gave up and died. I was researching if I could replace the battery in the old one and bought this because it was very well priced and, hallelujah, corded with a UK plug. I didn’t expect great things, I thought it would take me twice as long to epilate and I’d be left with horrible ingrown hairs. My other, again way more expensive epilator, unfortunately gave me ingrown hairs no matter how much I exfoliated, moisturised and cleaned the epilator until it was nearly factory new every time. I followed my normal routine and epilated my legs as I would do, and was very happy with the results. I was rushing, so I had to go over a few odd hairs I missed the following day. The little brush provided made it really easy to clean and I stored it in the box, expecting not to use it much in preparation for a new more expensive epilator in its place. Two weeks later, smooth skin and no ingrown hairs. I can’t believe it. It’s a little miracle machine. I’ve had to redo them today but it’s been a breeze and half the time. The only gripe I’ve got is that it can take multiple goings over if you’ve got thick stubborn hair like mine, which can be a bit of an annoyance. But for what you pay for you won’t get any better. I’ve been using an epilator for nearly 25 years and have gone through a few, this beats them by miles.If you’re new to epilating take your time and go slowly. Maybe put some loud music on your headphones to distract you. It’ll sting for a moment but it’s so worth it, believe me. For an epilating veteran, this is an absolute bargain.

I read many reviews for this product before deciding to take the plunge. I've not got a particularly high pain threshold, so I consider myself quite brave about purchasing a device that effective rips your hair out at the root over large parts of your body.The product is quite small, easy to hold and before you turn it on, looks quite innocuous. When turning it on, it does transform into a very angry sounding device and with it's whirling rippy implements (akin to gnashing teeth), I did have to summon up the courage to put the device on my leg.The first patch of hairs to be ripped out did cause me to utter several expletives, but I persevered and was surprised how quickly my brain adjusted to the pain threshold. I also found that there are certain parts of your body that hurt more than others e.g. when you hit a more sensitive spot, you are more inclined to go over the area that you first thought really hurt, because in comparison it was a walk in the park.As mentioned by another reviewer, when the ripped out hair grows back, the next time you use the device, the regrowth is removed easier and doesn't feel quite as painful. I have so far been brave enough to do my lower legs several times and the hair is taking around 2 weeks to come through. However, I was surprised how much it hurt on my upper legs and thighs. I incorrectly thought it would hurt more on areas with thinner skin, but I was wrong, so I am having to limit the ripping on the tops of my legs to small patches over several days.I did have a few red blotches after using, but now my skin is adjusting to my new 'torture' regime, the skin is not looking so angry.I have also purchased a Philips IPL machine, so hoping that between ripping and zapping, I will be hair free on my legs within 6 months.It is a bit painful, you do have to go over the same area several times, but if you can tolerate the discomfort, in the long run it is better than shaving or waxing.
