I’m an old Parker pens fan, but I’m quite disappointed with this reincarnation of the classic Jotter fountain pen, like the vector the barrel will crack after a few years of abuse.Would I give this one to a student who needs a good inexpensive pen set? No, because I prefer the platingum over the Parker if I want a more balanced and reliable fountain pen to write with.Ink flow is awkward, will leak like crazy over your fingers, be prepared for an awkward start and rougher penmanship, nibs could be lot better and more smooth to write with, depends on the ink that is used be prepared for a lot of smudging on paper, is it versatile? Err not after all the decades of practice, like to have a set of italic nibs or left handed nibs. Size wise it is fine but not the most enjoyable pen to use after hours of writing. Thanks for the very bright colours though, it is extremely quirky collection.Pro’s fine if you’re wanting to buy a name, con’s awkward bugger for a first fountain pen, plastic barrels don’t last long after a few years.Otherwise you can’t go wrong with a Parker as a backup pen. If you can put up with the problems that come with the pen, it’ll do you for a number of years.

I purchased this on offer as a stocking filler. The quality is typical of Parker pens and I love the vibrant green colour which is slightly different from the colours I usually associate with Parker.I also like that refills can be purchased in a variety of coloured inks, so it feels a little bit more special than your average disposable biro and much more suitable to gift.

better off with cheap Bic
The ink blots and shows on back side of paper, making writing on that side a bit of a mess. Refills also don't last very. Was expecting a "proper pen" would write more smoothly than a cheap pen. The box of Bics last longer and write more smoothly and don't ghost onto back side of paper.

Parker… a pen for the ages
Parker ballpoint pens have been around for a looong time. I fell in love with them early on while still in high school, mostly because they were reasonably priced & (perhaps most importantly) their ink cartridges lasted a long time & the ink in them was of good quality…yes, as their ads used to say, the ink really would write over oily stains on the paper (this was a revolutionary claim then & this feature is still operable today).Fast forward about 50 years, & all attributes are pretty much as they were when I was in high school. The difference now is that I sort of informally collect them — many interesting pen colors & configurations. In all that time, I’ve never encountered a “lemon” regardless of what style pen I used — as long as it was a Parker, I knew it would be reliable. Throw-away pens like the Bic brand have their place I guess (and I admit I use them on occasion), but they just add more plastic to the landfills .
