Able to hear conversations without taking the hearing protection off ,and cut the gun noise down from a loud bang to a thud. Well worth the money.

I bought these as a temporary replacement for my MSA Sordins which have gone to Sweden to be refurbished. For the price you not only the ear defenders, a case, a3.5 jack and cable but also a battery box plus some batteries as a gift. Despite being dropped in the mud (twice), shut in a Land Rover door, and spending two days in torrential rain, they carry on working. They are comfortable on my large head (7 5/8ths) and amplify speech over a good distance, once the volume level is adjusted correctly. They do take a fraction of a second to activate once they are switched on and do not revert to normal volume after blocking out the noise of a shotgun as quickly as the Sordins but for less than 10% of their price, I am very pleased with them. My son has tried them with a Bluetooth adapter to listen to music from his iPhone when he is shooting and they work well with it.

Electronic Ear Defenders reviewI tested 5 pairs of headphones,3M Peltor Sporttac about £145Verney-Carron £51awesafe Electronic Ear Defenders £38Howard Leight by Honeywell 1013530 Impact Sport £70JACK PYKE Electronic Noise Reducing Ear Defenders £65The philosophy of all these are that you can hear normal sound (up to 82db) any sound over 82db is attenuated. So a gun going off close to you sounds more like a dull thud than a sharp ear splitting crack.I did some initial testing to eliminate the worst by slapping a thick metal ruler on a bench to produce a sharp crack. Then I tested with a .22 starting pistol and then with a shotgun.All of these apart from the 3M picked up a crackling sound if close to a mobile phone.The 3M seem to be the gold standard, comfortable, solidly built with excellent and very swift attenuation. The headband pressure is acceptable, the ear pads are soft and the headphone cup size covers the entire ear without pinching. I could see being able to wear these for hours at a time. All 3 test sounds were very muted, almost instantly. External sounds were very true to life.Verney-CarronThese are an excellent alternative to 3M large cup size gives a comfortable fit. The headband is a bit tighter than the 3M which is slightly uncomfortable they could do with more padding on the underside of the headband and slight less springiness. The sound reproduction is good but a little high on the treble which can make some sounds unpleasant. The sound deadening is terrific I couldn’t tell any difference between this and the 3M for sound attenuation. They have a cheap look about them which is a shame for a product, that otherwise, seems good quality. These are the ones I bought.AwesafeFor the money these are incredible, nearly as good as the Verney-Carron (VC) for sound deadening, slightly more of the crack come thru. The sound reproduction is very good, marginally truer sound than the VC. The ear cups are slightly smaller and shallower than the VC which pinches the ear a little so not as comfortable. These look a good quality product, if it wasn’t for the tacky name on the side you would think they were a much more expensive piece of kit. It was a hard choice between these and the VC, in the end it came down to comfort I could see being able to wear the VCs longer than these. But for the money a fabulous bit of kit.Howard LeightVery disappointing, quite comfortable to wear and good sound reproduction, but awful on the attenuation, barely made any difference to the gunshot sound , which is after all the point. Similar look to the VC ones so not great.Jack PikeExcellent sound reproduction and attenuation, however the headband is super tight and the ear cups quite small which made them very uncomfortable to wear, couldn’t stand to have these on for more than a couple of minutes at a time so these went back as well.The overall winner is the Verney-Carron ones, but a very close 2nd is the Awesafe product especially for the price. Hope this helps.

I've started shooting again and needed some earpro for the indoor range. I have to say that these work very well. They have good levels of attenuation and still allow you to hear everything around you.There is a little "noise" when the active cancellation is being used, but nothing you wouldn't expect.So far so good for me, I like them a lot and would recommend them.

Recently I've had clay pigeon shooting tuition and trying to hear the lesson with earplugs in was awful, so I bought these. The ear defenders definitely reduce sound when worn switched off, switched on, hearing normal conversation is easy, but the loud cracks from the guns are obviously reduced. It is best to use the volume as low as you can while being able to hear, because like all amplifiers there is background hiss that only really becomes noticeable at high volume. I'm glad I bought them.

Wir (meine Frau und ich) sind keine Profis und wollen auch diesen Sport nicht exzessiv betreiben, haben wir uns für einen günstigen Gehörschutz umgesehen. Nach der schnellen Lieferung gleich ausprobiert und wir waren sofort beeindruckt. Gute Verarbeitung, gute Lautstärkequalität, Schüsse werden wirklich stark gedämpft. I wanted to love these but had to return, nothing wrong with the product, but I found them too uncomfortable on the ears when wearing with eye protection... Otherwise everything else functioned as it should and the sound amplification was awesome.

Great product. I have not heard of this brand before but I loved the look and took a chance on them. Couldn’t be happier with them. Have taken them to the range 4 times and they worked perfectly. Comfortable. Love the camo pattern. Much better value than some of the bigger brands.I had a big bulky pair of caldwells before, these are much slimmer, work better and look way better.
