Given the strong flavour I guessed that reviews were going to be somewhat polar. I couldn’t decide which ones to try, so I opted for 3 of the seemingly more popular ones and settled for:Liquirizia 100g - £9.90 – Largest pack, largest pelletsLiquorice Amarelli 40g £8.25 – Medium pack, medium pelletsSimpkins Nipits 12g £4.99 – Smallest pack, smallest pelletsAll are 100% liquorice and all are hard pellets. For me there was not a lot of difference between Liquirizia and Amarelli in terms of taste. Both were strong and the flavour came out very soon after entering the mouth. They lasted and kept the flavour going until the end. The Nipits were a weaker in flavour and the taste was slower to come though and by the time it did, it was gone.The winner for me based on taste was both Liquirizia and Amarelli with value for money putting Liquirizia in first place. I am afraid that Nipits were overly expensive for something that had little taste and resembled mouse droppings.If you are looking for a strong liquorice, then you may enjoy these….just be careful how many you eat per day, especially if over 40. Check the NHS website for liquorice warnings and a safe level to eat.

These taste and have the same mouth feel as every other good quality hard pure licorice pellets. You get a lot in the pack, and whilst it certainly doesn't look like much for the price, there are many many days of enjoyment in one box. I have had 4-6 on the days I feel I have eaten a lot of them, they really do pack a punch and isn't something you should or would want to eat loads of. Size per pellet is good, about the size of a pea and they are hard and very intense tasting so it's about the max size I would want them. Any larger and they'd be too much I think, as it would take too long to dissolve them in the mouth. I will for sure buy again.

Very good liquorice and not too bitter

I have repurchased this product and this one is not as good. Although it has an expiry date 2029, the pieces are very brittle and break into pieces as soon as you place it in your mouth. The taste seems weaker too. I'm disappointed.

I used to enjoy the hard liquorice that you could buy in sticks during the 50s and 60s. This product from Italy has a great flavour and the liquorice is presented in small pellets. The price has rocketed however. In the 50s and 60s you could buy two sticks for 1d - that's one old penny (480 for £1). Now it costs over £10 for a small tin of the stuff. However it is THE REAL THING so it's great to get that liquorice flavour all over again. Expensive but worth it!

This item was a re-order of a previously bought item that had been enjoyed however this time the product was in a slightly different box and was not the same product as before. It was very brittle and had very little taste it felt like it had been lying somewhere for a decade. Would have liked to order it again but do not want more of the same, very disappointed.
