I do a LOT of printing - all day, every day. You can say what you like about Epson but this one piece of kit saves a small fortune - not to mention waste for the planet. I have 2 printers - a Canon and an Epson. My Epson is for "quality" printing, with archival ink and my Canon is for "standard" printing with generic ink. This little black box absorbs all the "waste" ink and you simply remove and replace when necessary. The printer carries on and life is good. Canon? the waste ink tank gets full, you get a warning and (regardless of all the hacks you might see online which, trust me, do NOT work) very soon it's goodnight Vienna and off you pop for a whole new printer!! For once, Epson save me money and I am very grateful indeed.

Does exactly what it says it does. To be honest, when I bought my printer I didn't realise that a maintenance cartridge was required. Eventually you find out you do...when your printer stops working as it's full. Happily, although this is an original Epson spare part, it's very reasonably priced....unlike their inks!

What can i say apart from this plastic box worked to collect waste ink in my XP-8600 printer. £9 for a plastic box with a little bit of absorbent material in it is an absolute rip off - shame on you EPSON! You cant even reuse the box due to the fact EPSON have placed a chip on the box which your printer reads and will recognise its an old box so your printer will just refuse to work. They have you over a barrel!
