Such a simple and brilliant piece of kit.Very light. Cuts perfectly 350gsm silk baryta. 300gsm lustre and 290gsm metallic papers.I suppose if you put in to many sheets at a time you will have problems. If you’re sensible it works very well. £10.99 is a steal and worth every penny

When I unwrapped this cutter I was surprised to find how different it was from all that I had used previously. I started using a guillotine type (which I have replaced and use for tough jobs) then moved to the type which has a circular cutter moving along a steel tube. That one would cut cleanly if the cutter wheel didn't ride up whilst rotating which it often did.This cutter is a revelation once you get your head round it - that's because it's different using a small very sharp triangular bi-directional cutter blade in a small orange carrier which slides along the clear pressure bar. This plastic bar is not to line up your cut - as some have complained the slot is far too wide for this because this is the slot for the orange blade carrier to slide along!You lift the clear plastic carrier bar using the grip provided and line your cut up with the narrower slot which the blade runs in which can be done accurately. Press down lightly on the orange blade carrier to depress the blade from its safety position and run the cutter forwards and then back in a smooth motion. I found that since the blade has two cutting edges if a clean cut is not made in forward then it is on the reverse. The blade must be extremely sharp as the cuts seem cleaner than on other cutters. Lift up the clear plastic bar again using the grip and remove the trimmings. With captive guide bars this was always a nuisance as these trimmings often became trapped under the bar - not so here.This cutter handled greetings cards of double 300gsm card with no difficulty providing a neat, clean extremely accurate cut every time.The difference with this cutter is that it is not just a copy of what has gone before for many years but it is a totally new design. Someone has given attention to detail and come up with a marvellous product which outperforms most of the others. My only slight reservation is how rugged is it? The light plastic blade carrier and guide rail look as though they will not last - but time will tell and at the low price replacing the entire cutter may be better than replacing a blade.Congratulations from an engineer to whoever designed this product. Well done!Only had this one day, used it hundreds of times on thick card and have the following design recommendation.Several reviewers have complained about the cutter snagging and tearing the paper. Problem is that white nylon cutter carrier has square edges which can catch the edge of the paper and tear it. I have chamfer cut the two leading corners off mine and it performs a lot better. The alternative seems to be to start the cut not from one end as with a rotary cutter but in the middle of the paper and then move in both directions. This also seems to get around the problem.An easy design change as it only affects the blade carrier mould.

For the price this is a great paper cutter especially as it will take paper up to 12”x12” unlike most which only take up to A4 size paper. The blades are very sharp and because they retract into their holder you are less likely to accidentally cut yourself. However this feature might make the cutter more difficult for some to use as you have to apply more downward pressure than some paper trimmers that I have used. The trimmer will easily cut through 2 pieces of thinish Card.I haven’t given 5 stars for accuracy because, in common with some more expensive cutters, the pull out arm over extends slightly so when cutting paper over 6” you need to be more careful to make sure that you have your paper butted up to the fixed part of the base otherwise your cut will be at an angle. I know several people with this cutter and they are all the same. The pull out arm which extends the cutting area can be hard to pull out from the base at first but this eases with use.Overall this cutter is excellent value for money and the cautions I have pointed out are the same as I have found with some much more expensive paper trimmers. I would definitely recommend it for someone looking for a cheap back up trimmer or first time trimmer purchase. I have recommended it to several people for exactly this purpose.

Good for the price, the blade part comes off pretty easily but is easy to reattach, not the highest quality ever and feels a bit fragile but works as intended and the colour is awesome, cuts cleanly and stays in position, as described

This is a great product of a very convenient size. Its size is a bit shorter than a regular computer's keyboard (see the photos). Its weight is much lighter than I expected, which is great. It has a sharp cut. I have just received it so, can't comment on how long it can last for. I assume that if you don't overwhelm it with too many sheets at once (on the box, it says 10-12 sheets max), it should work for a long time. It was delivered very fast and in a good condition. Overall, very nice design. I would recommend.

This is a super lightweight trimmer suitable for cards and paper stocks.I currently have an Bolo basics roller trimmer which is fantastic. However i broke it a couple of days back trying to cut vinyl tiles! As a result i decided to order this lightweight trimmer just to use for my crafting.The trimmer is very different to others i have owned. It has a lift up flap where the triangular blade is housed. You slide the paper/card underneath this then close the flap. What does take some getting used to is the fact that paper cuts quite a fair bit inside the frame. I have tried to show this in my pictures. I am not sure if i like this style... it throws me off of my precision cuts. I prefer my roller cutter which slices right at the end of the cutting platform.So how did it perform, well it cut paper well. My first attempt did snag, i am not sure why, but after that the blade worked fine. I also tried 300gsm card and it worked well with this also.For the cost this is a great value trimmer. It's easy to store, has a fold out section which enables you to line up bigger paper. I will definitely use this for lightweight stock, but for more substantial stocks i will be reordering the Bolo basics trimmer.I hope you found my review helpful.

I bought this item specifically to cut 140# watercolor paper. Wasn't sure it would do the job but it has worked beautifully. It makrs very neat cuts with one swipe. Very pleased with the results. It's small enough to store easily and the price is good. The side arm let's you cut larger paper and it also has markings to cut diagonally. You can replace the blade mechanism when it gets dull. My photo shows a stack of 5x7 cards that I cut.

Super easy to use. The blade cuts very smooth. Love the color. It is thin and it can be stored everywhere. I have been using it for cutting notebook covers and it is very useful.
