Replacement glass for stove

The media could not be loaded. I was impressed with the way this replacement glass was packaged and delivered safely. Yesterday I fitted a new rope gasket and installed the new glass, taking care not to over tighten the retaining screws. I refitted the door and left it for nearly 4 hours before lighting a fire as per the instructions for the rope seal adhesive. I built a fire and let it burn - it was lovely to actually see all the way to the back of the burner & each individual log burning away nicely....Not a hot, fierce fire at all. We let the fire burn out overnight. I was very disappointed to see that when we lit another fire this morning, the glass had a big crack all the way across the bottom. Sadly it is not feasible to simply return this item and wait for a replacement in January when we need the burner the most. I have spoken to the suppliers and they are looking into it - Hopefully they will send us a refund or replacement.
