2.0 out of 5 stars Very expensive
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This product is lovely for baking cakes for diabetics as it almost no carbs and leaves no after taste as many others do. However it is astonishingly expensive! I was expecting a large jar for £21 but it is tiny and there is only enough to make 2/3 cakes which makes it exorbitant!
its ok

It Works
I like my tea sweet, and this has no calories. I've read that it's better than the other substitute sweeteners. I don't have the training to really know what's true about safety, but I like the taste. It's not metallic.
Sweet without the extra flavor
I have been using various forms of stevia for a couple years and even grew my own stevia plant one year. If you're reading this review then you're probably looking for a healthy alternative to some of the other sweeteners on the market. Splenda is more known for their sucralose based sweetener which is surrounded by controversy so I was pleasantly surprised to find this product . Not all stevia sweeteners are made the same because they include secondary ingredients to enhance the natural sweetness of the stevia extract. My review is going to compare three of the most common brands of stevia. Keep in mind that not everyone has the same taste buds so your experience may be different.Truvia (Stevia extract, erythritol and natural flavors)I have been using the Truvia brand for the longest and it has a noticeable chemical taste when it first hits your tongue. For the longest time I simply accepted that Stevia had a weird taste. This brand tastes unnaturally sweet and there is no mistaking it for other brands.Splenda Stevia (Stevia extract and erythritol)I don't taste any flavors with this brand and the sweetness is very subtle by itself. This is probably what most customers are looking for. Something that will sweeten their beverage without adding an unnatural flavor.Stevia in the Raw (Stevia extract and dextrose)This is somewhere between the Truvia and Splenda brands. Theres' a slight hint of an unnatural flavor and subtle sweetness. It's important to point out that this brand uses dextrose instead of erythritol. These are both natural sweeteners but people react differently to one or the other.I avoided using the Splenda brand for the longest time because of their association with sucralose. They really surprised me with their Stevia and it has become my new favorite sweetener.
Best natural sweetener to sugar for texture and sweetness.
This has Erythritol which isn't absorbed but passed through your body. The first day I may have had too much, about 1 tsp I think, because I had major stomach problems similar to what olestra used to do. But still nothing like what too large amount of Splenda would do to my stomach, extremely upset to the point of going home sick. There is 3 carbs per tsp but WebMD says it doesn't impact diabetic blood sugars since it isn't digested by the body. I told my boyfriend to try it and he loved it and had no stomach issues. It tastes sweeter than sugar we both decided but the same texture. I have been using it since but just not as much, just a sprinkle in my coffee since it is so strong, and I am fine. Also, it desolves better in coffee and tea than sugar. I read on Web MD that your body can handle 18 tsp of this without stomach discomfort but I am not so sure of that. I can feel it going through my system so unfortunately I will not be using it in large amounts like to bake. I give it five stars though because there is no after taste, it's natural, great texture and sweeter than sugar. Also, I thought the price was good for the amount I use until my boyfriend finished it off in a week. There is 80 servings in this so for me it would probably last about 240 days at 1 tsp a day but I usually only sprinkle a little in. It's not like Splenda where you have to add a lot to taste it.
The taste is great
I love the taste and it's plant based
