I have been making bread for my family for many years first by hand, but now in a breadmaker. Over the years, I have come to understand that the best bread is made by using Strong Canadian Bread flour. This flour has a higher gluten and protein content, making bread an important part of a healthy diet.Marriages Strong White bread flour is made from 100% Canadian wheat and not blended with weaker flours.The addition of Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, and Thiamin increases its dietary importance.For occasional use, I find that including (amount to choice) liberal amounts of mixed herbs produces a lovely herby bread that is wonderful with salads or cheesy pasta dishes.My everyday loaf is made from 50% Marriages Canadian flour and 50% wholemeal Spelt flour, a little shake of either ground nuts or ground seeds, and replacing some of the water with a little oat milk.I am very confident that my family is getting the best that I can provide.Canadian flour does cost a little more than weaker or blended flours, but you get what you pay for.The price of Marriages Strong Canadian Bread Flour compares very favourably with its competitors, and I have never had any disappointing bread results, so this is my go-to flour every time.Buying in bulk helps even more to save money, and I avidly watch for discounts before stocking up.I should also add that the flour arrives well-packed with no leakages or splits.If you believe in good food, and have never made bread before, give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
