After buying this and using it to cut up some old fence panels in a matter of minutes, i honestly wondered why i had not got this earlier.Since i bought it i have used it to cut off some thick tree branches, cut through a large tree root that was pushing up some paving slabs on the patio and other smaller bits and pieces.Weighs a fair bit but is solud and well made as is udual with Ryobi.I have a lot of other drills, sanders, torches etc all from Ryobi, so have 4 big 4 volt batteries and a 2 volt battery and 2 chargers. Batteries last a long time on the 4 volt ones and they have an LED light system that shows the charge left in the battery.Overall, a very good buy, you wont use it often but its one of those tools that you are glad you have.

So I love the fact the Ryobi battery goes in all my tools (and I now have a great collection), I needed to help my sister with fitting a loft hatch, needed a new toy for the job - this is it, cut through the joists and ceiling like a hot knife through butter, absolutely love this toy, it's not too heavy, but would recommend you used two hands unless your a big handed person. My sisters boyfriend is so impressed with my Ryobi collection he has switched brands and has started his own.

I was impressed by the ease of use for this reciprocating saw. I had specific (wood) projects that i needed this for and it handled these with ease.I cannot speak to durability as have only owned for a short while but, so far, product seems reasonably robust. I have a number of the 'Ryobi ONE' batteries and find that even on the smallest that i get a reasonable number of cuts before the battery dies.If there is a downside, compared to hand saws, it is the weight and that you need to use it two handed. This means you either have to clamp the workpiece or get help from partner/friend. However, i have tried a few different makes (in the local DIY shops) and the Ryobi is not much different in weight. Presumably one cannot get robust construction and lightweight!

Comfortable design. Blade that comes with it isn't great so invest in a set of decent Bosch blades at same time. Trigger lock is good to prevent accidents. Blade release is plastic and feels like it's being forced when releasing. Hopefully this won't be a problem but reassured with 3 year guarantee. Would have preferred a metal mechanism here. Performs well as expected from Ryobi. Overall happy with the purchase
