I bought these to cut away fur on the dog’s paws where mud collects and hardens, which he then worries at. The angle and sharpness mean this is super easy and effective. Fab item.

It was a wonderful relief to be able to reach my toenails with ease, using these nail scissors. I have now bought another pair for my husband, who has a fungal infection (and, out of lockdoen, goes for professional treatment) in his toenails, so that I can avoid catching it myself. The longer handle gives excellent leverage and they are effective in cutting toughened nails and even removing the fungus itself. Obviously, one has to be careful because one could conceivably cut one's flesh, but I have had no problem. I do leave my nails a fraction longer, to be on the safe side. They come with a guard for the business end, too. I thought they were slightly overpriced, and one thing I have learnt is that, if a company has its own website, it can be cheaper too buy from that, because of course Bolo takes its cut (no pun intended!) of the price. I haven't looked to see if that is the case here. However, I am glad to have found them because they have solved an increasing problem for us - that of having to bend far enough to reach our toes and then saw through thickened nails with conventional scissors. Glad I bought them.

Finish of cutting blades very poor, wouldn’t cut paper, not that it’s designed to. Had to remove rivet and use oilstone to render cutting surfaces flat enough to cut.Not impressed.

Claramente diseñadas para la pedicura, estas tijeras me han librado de un pequeño problema que arrastro desde que pasé de los cuarenta y tantos y mi flexibilidad corporal dejó de ser lo que era. Para cortarme las uñas de los pies siempre había utilizado tijeras normales, sin mayor problema. Pero, el problema comenzó a manifestarse progresivamente al ir cumpliendo años. Especialmente para cortar las uñas del pie derecho (soy diestro, supongo que a los zurdos les pasará lo mismo con el izquierdo), pues con unas tijeras normales el ángulo que hay que adoptar puede llegar a ser impracticable, por lo menos para mí. Con estas tijeras la cosa cambia. Y aunque el pie derecho siga siendo un poco más difícil, resulta que el ángulo que tienen nos hace las cosas mucho más llevaderas. Además, a su favor también hay que decir que estas tijeras no pinchan, pues la punta es roma, de modo tal que podemos introducirla entre el dedo y la uña, sobre todo en el pulgar, y manejarla para cortar la uña sin hacernos sangre, como me pasó alguna vez con las punzantes tijeras normales.Un instrumento de entrada tan sencillo que facilita la vida, por lo menos a mí, muchísimo. Muy recomendable.
