I was pretty stressed about this purchase, as the reviews were mixed and also considering a lot of scam these days. But luckily everything seems to be fine, the camera works brilliantly and arrived packed just like in the pictures attached. The only thing that was missing was a piece of information in the product description that the camera comes with the US plug battery charger so you need an adapter to use it in the UK.Anyway, I ordered it on Friday evening and got it delivered on Monday after the weekend, which was faster than the expected delivery time provided upon ordering.

You can then open the file in Canon's Digital Photo Professional software, and use Image Micro-adjustment to shift the focus ever so slightly; not massively, but Canon believes there's the potential to rescue some shots using this technology.As you'd expect, the file size increases dramatically, from 37MB to 67MB – and you will have to use Canon's rather clunky DPP software.The native sensitivity runs from ISO100-32,000, and is expandable to 50-102,400. Impressive though this is, this expanded range is actually identical to the 5D Mark III's, although Canon reckons it has enhanced the noise-processing algorithm for improved results at higher sensitivities, while it's also a stop more than one of this camera's closest competitors, the Nikon D810.

I have enjoyed the predecessor to this camera for about 5 years now. I loved the Mk3, but had a few niggles. The 5D Mk4 addresses all of my personal minor niggles. The auto-focus locks on way more reliably than the Mk3's and is such an improvement that even my most challenging lens, my Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art that I'd almost given up on due to inconsistent focusing, actually focuses consistently on the 5D Mk4.Raising the shadows in the RAW files can be done without introducing a lot of noise to the dark areas - another huge improvement.Low light focusing is way better, and in 'live view' mode, can be achieved in really very dark conditions.There is much improved ability to assign functions to buttons. I can now change my exposure compensation, drive mode (single shot to servo, say) and focus area (from spot to something larger) all without taking my eye away from the viewfinder. Speaking of exposure compensation - this can now be adjusted in Manual Mode as well as AV, TV etc, which is also great when using Auto ISO in manual mode - something I often do. The touch screen is nice, larger buffer for more rapid shots before slow down and the list goes on.Not a camera for video shooters unless you're happy with 1080p (which I am), because the 4k has a lot of limitations, but as a stills camera I can't really fault it. Very happy to have added this very capable robust and reliable camera to my arsenal.
