I was hankering for a decent rootbeer but budget constraints meant I wouldn't be buying any of the usual decent brands (A&W, Barq's, Mug) most of the budget friendly brands available in the UK are either pitiful on the flavour front or ruined by artificial sweeteners (thanks UK govt for forcing the industry to fill our beverages with cancer and diabetes causing artificial sweeteners that taste revolting, you've made your own ticking timebomb of health problems that you claimed you were going to stop with this joke sugar tax! We don't need stupid nanny legislation dictating what we can and can't have in our drinks!) So I was very pleased to see that not only was this rootbeer made with NO artificial sweeteners, but is also made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup (which is the real sugar villain and is what needs reducing or not using in many foods as it's what's used to fatten up livestock and gives humans fatty livers!) and didn't have a long list of ingredients.I still find it a pretty sweet drink, but we don't really drink soda pop and water our juices down so this rootbeer is probably fine for people used to drinking full fat sodas, but overall it's great having a decent soft rootbeer offering that uses wintergreen and sarsaparilla in the flavour profile as a lot of UK versions don't use them assuming that Brits don't want drinks with them in since some Brits compared many rootbeers to Germaline! The flavour isn't quite as complex as the usual favourite US brands, but as a cheaper alternative that isn't riddled with nasty artificial sweeteners this really fills the void and is very pleasant to drink.

Whilst not being in the big leagues, I mean, they're not going to give A&W any sleepless nights, Tropical Sun make a decent root beer.They've got the flavour right, it's decaffeinated, and they haven't taken the easy option of stuffing it with nasty sweeteners. I suffer from a genetic condition called PKU, and believe me, sweeteners to *us*, can be poisonous. It's much cheaper for a company to load a soda with phenylalanine (aspartame) than to make it properly with sugar. But Tropical Sun have resisted.The taste is not *too* sharp, it's a little softer on the taste buds than some US imports, which could easily cost you two or three times as much, even if you order online. But while it is softer, the flavour is still very *there*, so whether you're looking for an ice-cold thirst quencher, or something to make ice-cream floats, this is still a great option.Frankly, I was a little worried when I made my purchase, and was really going out on a limb, as I took advantage of a bulk-buy offer where I had to purchase more to save at the back end. But I cracked one open as soon as they arrived, and after a tiny preliminary taste test - I practically downed the whole thing in about three gulps! It's been sooo long...Tropical Sun root beer is great. I am very impressed. I stuck six cans in the fridge right away, and stacked the other slabs in the pantry.They're not A&W. But they don't *cost* A&W. They've got great flavour, and that's all that matters. A good purchase.

For a soft drink this is refreshing but sadly it does not quite reach the mark in flavour / taste. This root beer needs a little more flavouring added to it as it does have a weakish taste.For those that haven't drank root beer before, it is a good flavour if you like the taste of hospital disinfectant. It's a unique flavour that tastes like the smell of a braded disinfectant but it doesn't leave anny bad aftertaste.This is a drink that is similar to that famous spread that claims you'll love it or you'll hate it. However, in my case I don't looe it as I only like it due to the weak flavour.Price wise it does have a good price and that explaind the weak taste. I would prefer to pay a little more and have a strong root beer.For root beer fans that are now budgetting this is not a bad choice and for those that haven't tried root beer but are adventurous I would say give it a try as you will either like it or not but should you find a stronger root beer, at a higher price, you will either love it or hate it.I am recommending this product even though it doesn't quite reach the mark on taste as it is a good value product.

Hadn’t had root beer since I was a kid and saw this so brought it. I tried to think what the smell reminded me of. After a few days and a few cans I realised it reminded me of deep heat muscle rub, lol. But the drink is tasty, probably a required taste.
