Helps to use the organic base occasionally to give your beard a fuller darker look. This is a great product when used in conjunction with the Grizzly Mountan Beard dye. I couldn't be happier. It lasts a long time and gives a more natural look than most dyes O bought in the past. I will only use Grizzly Mountain products now. Excellent product that I highly recommend.

Good product - some folk don't like the 15-30 min application time, but the product colour lasts for a good week or so after, so well worth the time and effort. Every bag arrives with instructions and an applicator brush. My tip is to thoroughly read the instructions and make sure you have understood them, before doing anything else. Looks so natural, people simply don't believe the beard is dyed. Which is what you want really. BTW - this deals with white as well as grey hairs effectively. No more looking like Santa Claus.

OK, I was using Just for Men for 6 months with great sharp looking results then suddenly after my usual application I developed a burning sensation on my skin, I though maybe I left it too long on before rinsing off. The itching eased off after a few days. 2 weeks later I reapplied as normal and the same reaction occurred but much more intense. Each morning it would burn in the shower when in contact with hot water and lasted about a week. It seems that this slow reaction is due to the PPD building up in the body and then reaching a critical mass. At this point I binned the product and opted for Grizzly. I applied it yesterday evening and the results are very good and NO reactions whatsoever. Also, the whole process was 45 mins, the smell is fine, like green tea As my beard is not course, I didn't use the base, I just mixed up the black dye as per instructions and left on beard for about 45 mins. Then I rinsed off with a organic face wash and after about 12 hours it looks very good, the grey bits have also darkened up so all looks very natural. Maybe I'm lucky to have a soft beard also. So good results without my body absorbing harsh PPD is something this product truly offers and I would recommend anyone to try it!

It didn’t work for me , I tried all methods , I used the base first then the black beard dye for 10mins , the next day my beard went red in the sunlight .The true colour takes around 24hrs to form , not for me , the products advice is if your beard goes red / indigo then your probably better trimming back your beard and starting again !So to stop being a laughing stock at work I’m going to have to shave back my beloved beard !£20 for the base and £20 for the dye is a shocking price for something that’s hit and miss .

Some batches you buy work perfectly - other batches not so much. This is standard when dealing with indigo and other plant dyes - it can vary depending on the harvest and other elements. However, at £19.99 a bag when the product is inconsistent - I find it overpriced and will stop buying.(This is based on following the instructions to a T).

Good base coat been using for a few months now, sometimes I only use the base coat when I have less time and use a touchup pen for odd hairs here and there. I usually also buy the grizzly black beard dye ,but now there is a £7 delivery charge so decided to buy from there own website which works out cheaper as they also gave me a buy 3 get one free offer,which I went for as I plan to keep using for a long time as I get no side effects like other dye,s . I would have gave it 5 stars if it covered every single hair but it almost does and I use a Blackbeard touchup pen sometimes if need be.

Without base color quickly wears off

Bisogna fare un pò di pratica nell'uso ma alla fine, quando si impara è ottimo: non irrita e da alla barba un colore molto naturale perchè leggermente disomogeneo. Non fa l'"effetto Pavarotti", per intenderci. Io mi trovo benissimo, ormai lo uso da anni...Sconsiglio il nero, perchè ha riflessi violacei poco naturali. I bruni son belli, anche se tendono leggermente al rossiccio.

Es el mejor producto natural 100% recomendable (hablo del tinte y de la base orgánica) . Requiere un tiempo (2 o 3 aplicaciones) para aprender a utilizarlo para resultados muy satisfactorios. Ante cualquier duda, escribir al equipo de Grizzly Mountain y ellos os darán instrucciones muy precisas. Por ejemplo, en mi caso empecé usando solo el tinte castaño claro los 30 min señalados, pero me ocurría que el color evolucionaba al cabo de unos días a tonos rojizos, cobrizos, rubiones. Me sugirieron aplicar primero 30 min de la base orgánica y no más de 20 del tinte: el resultado fue maravilloso. Desde hace dos meses uso esa combinación, y estoy muy contento. Ahora empecé a combinar el castaño claro y el castaño normal, una cucharadita cada uno. Como siempre, primero 30 min de la base, luego 20 min del tinte. Y el color es el que esperaba. En mi caso muy similar al que obtenía con JFM castaño claro.Otro dato: había hecho anteriormente una compra (3 unidades) de marrón oscuro (castaño oscuro) equivocadamente, pues quería el marrón claro. En un intercambio de correos electrónicos con el equipo de Grizzly Mountain por otro tema, relacionado con instrucciones de aplicación, salió este tema. Ellos me solicitaron el ID de la compra. Al cabo de una semana tenía en casa, gratuitamente, los 3 paquetes de castaño claro por gentileza de ellos. Me sorprendieron gratamente y, claramente, el gesto habla muy bien de esta empresa.Gracias por ofrecer este excelente producto, y la calidad por igual del equipo Grizzly Mountain.

Adds natural color with no allergic response

The organic base is part of a kit sold by the manufacturer. A while back I was a user of a standard beard dye on the market, you know, exclusively for males. After using the commercial product for years, I began to develop horrible allergic reactions ( weeping sores) and had to discontinue.Enter Grizzly, I have been a happy user for two years now and very satisfied. Initially, I had to "break-in" my beard to the product using the organic base- although each person is different-not everyone needs it ( The manufacturer instructions ask to try without it and use if you need assistance for "breaking in" your tough beard). The organic base helps provide a specific tone range and probably helps the absorbency of the beard and a small amount is given with the standard kit. Recently I found myself using the organic base consistently so I ordered a package of it separately. Give these folks a try. Your beard will look natural and you won't get "burned" by harsh chemicals. Comes in powdered form appears to be all natural vegetable and mineral pigment dyes. Instructions are clear and you can contact them for additional support ( I don't usually - still its nice to know the option is there)

A pain, but worth it.

I have personally found this product quite painful to use (figuratively not literally) compared with jfm.But i personally find jfm very painful to use (literally not figuratively)So this one is better.The only way it works for me and my very coarse beard:- Do it on a Friday night only.- Have a hot shower, shampoo beard with a basic shampoo, but NO CONDITIONERS OR OILS OR 2 in 1 MOISTURISING SHAMPOOS ETC. You can also use or a few drops of dish soap like Dawn. #note: You are basically trying to strip away the oils from your beard so it can soak up as much dye as possible, so if you know you have oily hair make sure you shampoo well or go the Dawn route.- Gently pat dry beard #note don't dry it too much it goes on better damp- Mix GM base (i use 1 tablespoon of GM base for my 1 inch beard) with HOT water to form a ketchup consistency. You don't want it too thin or it will just run off, and too thick is too hard to apply and will dry out too quickly. #note i find hot water gets a much quicker/darker result than cold water. If you live in a hard water area use distilled/demineralized water as minerals can interfere with the process.- Smoosh it liberally into beard with fingers so every hair is wet with product, start with the greyest bits first so those bits have the longest contact time.- Stick a couple of cotton balls up nose to mask the smell (kinda smells like tobacco/grass, not a bad smell but it's a bit overpowering for me)- Wait 30 minutes then have another hot shower, rinse beard well- repeat the entire process above, except using your preferred GM dye instead of the base.- wait 48 hours for it to fully developThis process gets me a very dark dye, if you want something less dark then use cold water instead of warm, or don't leave the dye on for the full 30 minutes (but still do the base 30m).
