It’s true that this item has no connection for an overflow pipe but that isn’t needed if you have a sink with an internal overflow. That is one where the overflow is built into the sink itself and flows back into the sink hole, just below the plug.My sink is a modern Belfast sink, supplied two years ago, which has an internal overflow, so perhaps if you have one of these, then this is the product for you. But if you have a more original and older sink, then I think these do have additional external overflow pipes, so this is the wrong product for you.Given some rough measurements of my sink and the dimensions shown, this was a perfect replacement for me and my sink.With a little Plummers Mate sealant then it was fitted quickly and perfectly. The extra sealant I think it the key to this fitting perfectly.Overall very pleased.

Product is fine but it doesnt have a overflow attachment; the one that does has a very similiar product number: MBSWSS85 which isnt stocked with Bolo

Supplied with no McAlpine package or fitting leaflet, so unclear where the thick rubber washer was meant to go, and the hollow screw was upside down. I suspect this was a recycled return. However, when eventually fitted the screw was long enough for a Vitra Belfast sink and is leak proof. The chrome part I fitted with plumbers mait.

Brilliant. Used it for a Belfast sink after one I’d had for 15 years broke. Fitted fine with no leaks to the sink (local plumbers merchants said Belfast wastes could be tricky). My only concern is that the long hollow metal screw is secured into the threaded plastic. I might have expected a captured metal nut. Would be concerned that stripping the plastic thread would be a risk when tightening the entire fitting onto the uneven lower surface of the sink.
