Wasn't expecting much from these, and thought that honestly they looked overpriced and underwhelming, but got them anyway as a treat to try. They've turned out to actually work really nicely, and though they still feel a bit overpriced for what they are (sorry!) I actually would get them again or as a gift for someone else.They're a set of two silicone 'cups', with two flaps that you fold down before putting in the microwave. They come in orange and black, and have some instructions on the label, facing inwards. There's a raised section inside in the bottom of each-you put in popcorn kernels enough to level out with the top of this raised section, close the flaps down, then microwave.The time and power depends on your microwave and you'll have to experiment to find the best combination-mine took between two to three minutes, for reference, not long. When enough kernels have popped and filled the cup, the flaps will be pushed up and open from the inside and you stop the microwave. Each cup makes enough for about a cereal bowl full of popcorn. You don't need to add butter or anything else, and if you wanted to you'd do it after microwaving. The cup is too hot to handle directly from the microwave (though that means butter will melt in it quickly, etc) but cools down fast enough, though tipping it into a bowl is always an option.Usually there are kernels left over at the bottom-I just used them in the next batch. Do not over fill or under fill! Under filling means the flaps might not open, and the popcorn could burn or worse. Over filling just wastes time and kernels. You probably will overfill at first though, as it's hard to believe the amount of kernels needed to reach the marker is enough to fill the container, but it surprises you. :)Small warning-be careful about leaving the container unattended in the microwave while popping, or letting it go longer than usual. Once, after having used it a few times already, for some reason the flaps didn't open so even though it seemed suspiciously long I let it keep going. I can report that the popcorn maker leaves enough gaps to allow smoke to escape, while it also relatively 'safely' contains small fires well enough to allow you time to get it into the sink :D

My family love popcorn and we opted for these as it doubles into a popcorn bag so it feels like you're at the movies.Unfortunately the product just doesn't work. Let's walk through the steps of making popcorn:1. Put kernels in the maker.2. Close the flaps.3. Place in microwave and cook.Simple, right? Unfortunately step 2 of the cooking process is where this all goes down the drain. The flaps don't stay closed and the lightest of breezes will flip them open which stops popcorn from popping.A little bit of fiddling and you can get the lid to close. Congratulations. You get a few kernels pop and then guess what happens? The flaps pop open and the popcorn just flies out, covering your microwave. So now you've got popcorn everywhere and you need to pause things, clean up and try to go again but now the flaps just don't want to stay closed.What should have taken 3-4 minutes in total has now taken you 15 minutes and you just aren't satisfied by the mix of cold and stale popcorn from cooking a few kernels, taking them out, cooking more and repeating.The worst thing is now that I've used them I can't really return the item so I'm stuck with an item that does absolutely nothing but take up space.Fortunately there are other popcorn makers on Bolo that genuinely do work and have made making popcorn a breeze. Go look elsewhere for something that works because this product, like almost all other Joseph Joseph products, looks nice but does not work.

It is ok and convenient to make popcorn quickly with little drama. My little one like it and it means they can have it with no butter, sugar or salt!but for the price, you could buy a lot of popcorn from the supermarket!In use, it always seems to burn some in the middle and leaves kernels unposed at the bottom. If I use less than the recommended measure then the lid doesn't open and they burn so can be a bit frustrating. I also imagined I would make this quickly then as it is rubber be able to hold it and eat from it like a cardboard version in the cinema but it gets too hot.I have a 800w microwave so maybe a more powerful one will give better results.Since buying this I have also seen how easy it looks to make it in a pan .... that you could then add butter or salt to ...

The material is kind of static and very hot after use, and I would have given 5 stars, but the products don't stay closed.. and that is without placing them in the microwave. Joseph Joseph is usually a great brand, hence me buying these, and I shall consider the brand in the future. Thank you.

As a total popcorn addict, I'd been spending far too much money on prepacked bags. These individual microwave popcorn makers could not be simpler to use and are saving me a fortune.After many enjoyable experiments, I have finalised my popcorn making routine. Add raw kernels up to the line, a light splash of vegetable oil, a very light dusting of salt (pre ground in a pestle and mortar,) shake to mix, then into the microwave.The instructions say that you should stop the microwave when the top pops open, but I've found that you can keep going until there are 2 seconds between the pops to maximise popped kernels. Note - this only works because my tiny microwave acts as a lid and stops the popcorn flying everywhere!Result, a perfect individual serving of popcorn, no need to decant into a serving dish, just enjoy.In summary, this is the best thing I've bought in ages and well worth the money.

Habe den Popcornmaker mit speziellem Popcornmais versucht.Klappt wunderbar, es bleiben kaum Körner übrig.Bei der Zeit brauche ich deutlich länger wie beschrieben, aber das liegt wohl an der Mikrowelle.Einziges Manko ist das gleichmäßige Verteilen der Gewürze. Das klappt im Behälter nicht gut.Trotzdem bin ich voll zufrieden!
