Universal rubber seal – Suitable for both windows and doors
Original UPVC window seals can become compressed or perished therefore may need replacement. Window seals act as both draught proofing saving on your heating bills but they also act as soundproofing. Replacement may be needed where your existing rubber window/ door seals have become compressed and are not fully sealing the gap in the window when it is closed, this will then let in both air and external sound.
Note, the original shape of the seal within your window/door may vary slightly from this rubber seal profile/shape. This should not affect the performance of your window/door in most circumstances this product will provide a new airtight/soundproof seal.
Why Draught Proof? -
Your house or commercial property will lose heat during cold weather partly due to poor thermal insulation, but also due to the air-leakiness of the building. This warm air loss is technically known as infiltration or permeability and is measured in metres cubed per hour per square metre of floor area. A typical building built 1900 to 1990 will lose around 20-30 metres cubed of air per hour per square meter of floor area. This is due to natural leakage through the fabric of the building, but largely through gaps around windows and doors. Good use of draft proofing could reduce your air permeability to around 8-10 metres cubed per hour which is a good low cost way of reducing your heating bills. The amount of air infiltration to your property will also depend on its exposure to wind so if you are on a hillside or near the coast then it is even more beneficial for you have good draught proofing.

Once you master the technique then it fits pretty well. Enough length to cover a large door too. No problems so far and stayed in place.

I bought this to replace some door bottom weather seals which had perished.I could not find an exact replacement but this one measured up with the same fitting for sliding into the door bottom groove, but instead of being a single flaplike the originals (which had rotted and come off) this one has a hollow circle of rubber which can crush up to form a better seal with the frame.It fitted perfectly, although it was a bit tighter than I thought it would be, especially as the seal was slid further along the door bottom. A small amount of rubber lubricant was needed to make it fit a bit easier. On one door the strip had a tendency to come out of the groove with a little force, - like when the door was opened or closed and the round seal was compressed. but on another door it was just perfect.If you have UPVC . composite external doors with this type of fitting and the same size grooves to take it (5mm) it is an ideal replacement.

I bought 3 tubs, one tub had a faulty batch with a height of 5mm instead of 6mm. The seal in the faulty tub felt a bit slimy. The other two tubs were fine

Arrived a day earlier than expected but was fully tracked so no issues.Installation is straight forward once you get the knack, I used the blunt end of a metal nail file just to help push it into the groove. Corners are a little trickier but manageable. I installed this on an upstairs window and managed to do it from the inside, it meant twisting and contorting a bit but well worth the effort.The seal itself appears to be good quality and comparing this with the old seal just shows how worn the old one had become.This is good value for money and a lot cheaper than replacing the window.

My original window seal had perished so bought this to replace it. Pictures and information online indicated it should be a suitable product. The old seal came out relatively easy and just needed to brush out the groove and push in the new one. Very happy, just need a windy day to test it!
