The three grades are perfectly blended to give, hard, smooth and very soft, smugeable lines. The pureness of the white is exceptional, and of a very high pigment to binder ratio.The hardest grade is perfect for doing thin, highlights, on edges or curves where the tiniest if highlight is required. You can sharpen them to the tiniest of points to get a minute edge or dot, such as in an eye iris.The smoothest is perfect for blending to create a lighter edge over a small to broad area and the blend quality is comparable to even the top quality pencil manufacturers.The mid grade is useful for semi blending where you need to transition from white to another colour and graduates beautifully.They have lasted a really long time, and I have constantly used them. I will definitely be ordering them again when they run out.If your a professional artist, you may be surprised by the usefulness and high quality of these pencils, as an addition to your regular brand.As an amateur like myself, you will be thrilled with the quality and performance at such a reasonable price. Very highly recommended.

These are great on black or coloured paper. Easy to sharpen and they keep a good point for ages.and they blend well with other charcoal pencils.

I am a hobby colourist, I mainly watercolour but I also use dry pastel pencils. These pencils are not that indispensable, but may help if you're using dry pastel pencils on a rough surface paper, leaving white dots here and there. These pencils help to smooth and blend the colour. I bought them thinking that they should help me making pure white highlights (eg. in eyeballs). I was wrong - they don't

But I suspect because these are charcoal pencils, you likely can’t get that. Still they are good quality, hold up well for sharpening, and do what they should.
