Fever Tree quality at a good price point (~£13), good taste, fizz and pairs well with my dry gins and it generally goes down well.Shelf life on the cans is long enough (~1 year) that I'm not worried about expiry before I get through them all.

What more do you need to know? I mean, is there any other use for tonic water?Add gin and add Fever-Tree tonic water to your favourite glass... and drink. Add a splash of lime if you like (fresh squeezed of course). Perfect, refreshing summer drink with just the right amount of fizz.

Fever-Tree aus England, seit 2005 am Markt hat eine breite Palette an Mixer-Softdrinks. Indian Tonic Water ist aber sicherlich ihr Flaggschiff. Es enthält nur natürliche Zutaten, keine künstlichen Aromen oder Süßstoffe. Die Firma nennt auf ihrer Internetseite natürliches Chinin aus der Rinde des Fieberbaumes aus der Grenzregion zwischen Kongo und Ruanda, Rohrzucker, Quellwasser aus Staffordshire und Bitterorangenextrakt aus Tansania.Eine Vorbemerkung zum Geschmack: Ich selbst trinke gern und oft Tonic, meist als Gin und Tonic, aber auch manchmal pur. Ich kaufe sowohl den Marktführer aus dem Supermarkt, als auch die anspruchsvolleren und teureren Marken und glaube, dass mein Überblick über den Tonic-Markt nicht der schlechteste ist.Das Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water ist durchsichtig und hat viel Kohlensäure. Der Geruch ist frisch nach Zitrusfrüchten. Soweit die Gemeinsamkeiten zum Marktführer - das wars aber dann auch.Geschmackseindrücke:Zunächst pur - aus dem Kühlschrank: erster Eindruck ist Zitrusfrüchte - vor allem Orange. Dann schmeckt man Süße, danach kommt das bittere Chinin. Je wärmer das Tonic wird, desto aufdringlicher werden Süße und Bitterkeit, deswegen meine dringende Empfehlung: Eiswürfel!Zweiter Test: Pur auf Eis.Die Orange ist immernoch zu schmecken, Die Süße ist sehr gut ausbalanciert, die Bitterkeit harmoniert auf Eis wesentlich besser mit der Süße und den Aromen der Zitrusfrüchte. Der Geschmack ist rund, voll und nicht zu süß.Gin und Tonic:Das Fever-Tree Indian Tonic ist ein guter Allrounder. Wegen seiner Süße kann es mit den klassischen, trockenen, Wacholder-betonten Gins umgehen (zB Tanqueray, Beefeater, Bombay), aber es lässt auch den moderneren Gins mit ihrer Aromenvielfalt genug Raum zur Entfaltung (Hendricks, Bulldog, Monkey 47)Mein Favorit zum Fever-Tree ist der Tanqueray No.10, da er selbst Orangen unter seinen Botanicals hat. Als Deko natürlich eine Orangenzeste oder -scheibe. Dann an einem heißen Sommerabend ab damit in den Garten oder auf den Balkon und man ist glücklich mit seinem Glas^^Was passt sonst noch zum Tonic? Natürlich ein guter Wodka. Da der außer nach Ethanol nach nichts schmeckt, brauch ich über passende Aromen nicht zu schreiben.Für alle, die Wert auf ein gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis legen, ist dieses 24er-Bundle optimal, da die einzelne Dosenportion nur einen Euro kostet, zusammen mit einem anständigen Gin kommt man auf vielleicht 3-4 Euro für den Drink.Wer jedoch Wert auf absolute Qualität legt, ist mit Fever-Tree ebenso gut bedient. Eine Premiummarke, die zu fast allen Gins gut passt und die Gästen Anerkennung abnötigt^^Ein Wort zum Größe der Dosen. Sie enthalten nur 150ml. damit wirken sie in einem großen Longdrinkglas etwas verloren. Der Trend geht aber ohnehin dazu, Gin und Tonic in einem großen Weinglas zu servieren. Hier passt die Menge perfekt.Für Gesundheitsbewusste: Eine Dose enthält 12g Zucker. mit 5cl Gin landen wir bei etwas über 300 kcal pro Drink (Das Tonic selbst bringt nur 36kcal pro 100ml davon mit.)Sowohl die Dosen selbst, als auch das Achterpack, von denen dieses 24er-Bundle drei enthält, passen sehr gut in jeden Kühlschrank und jede Kühlbox. Die Dosen lassen sich dank einheitlichem Pfandsystem in jedem Supermarkt zurückgeben. Als ich mein Bundle bestellt habe, war es laut MHD noch mehr als 9 Monate haltbar.Wer also auf gutes Tonic steht, kann mit diesem Vorratspack nichts falsch machen.Ich hoffe, meine Bewertung hat euch etwas weitergeholfen, ich freue mich über Kommentare und Bewertungen.
