Ok so at 61 I decided to try learning guitar but being in a four in a block the accoustic was bugging my neighbours so upgraded to this as I can plug a set of headphones in , now I have only been learning for a few weeks so am no expert but for a smidgen over £90 I orderred this last night and it arrived this afternoon well packaged and in perfect condition when unpacked , all items present even a few extra picks etc . So I set it up checked the basic adjustment which seems ok which again I'm no expert in tuned it and tried a few chords and all the various nobs and dials and was pleasantly surprised it seems easier than my acoustic to play , so far only negative I can say is the chord to connect to amp was a little short for where I was gonna put it but ended up in a better place so no Biggie also be sure to get an adapter for your headphones from 3.5 to 6.5 fortunately I had on and if you do was to put the amp any distance away get the extension leads you'll need cheap enough so all in all excellent value, will update if any probs in future but have contact email for company who were very keen for me to use if I do encounter problems .

I bought this on offer (pressie for my grandson) and feel very lucky, as it was a fantastic deal. Even at full price though, this is a great kit, perfect for beginners, as it has literally everything needed to get started. All the items are excellent quality, especially the fabulous guitar itself, which looks and feels great..even better than expected! It arrived exactly on schedule, despite being only a few days before Christmas and there was an option to pay by instalments, which was really helpful. My only suggestion to the seller would be to include a simple pamphlet with a few interesting ideas of things to have a go at for inspiration… maybe some simple chord sequences, tips on tuning, a blues scale and perhaps a few easy tunes to try. All in all though, this is a very well thought out beginners guitar kit and I would definitely recommend it as the perfect gift for any aspiring young (or any age!) musicians!

I learned how to play the guitar about 20 years ago, but haven't had a guitar in about 8 years. I wanted to get an electric guitar so I could play quietly at night without disturbing family members. An electric guitar would allow me to do that, but as having an electric guitar without an amplifier seemed a bit daft, I started lookong for a kit with all the stuff needed to play an electric guitar. I didn't want to spend too much money, and I am not planning on playing on concerts.The RockJam Superkit ticked all the boxes, and it had fairly acceptable reviews, so I ordered a used one from Bolo Warehouse.I have been using it for a week when writing this review (I have blisters on my fingertips to prove it).- The item arrived on time, the use and condition of the item and package matched what was described on Bolo Warehouse.- The kit was complete and all items match the photos- For a begginer the overall quality is quite good, but I don't think it would perform that good for playing in a band.- The amplifier is good enough, but it is not awesome.- The guitar has a nice finishing and looks good.- Tuned it and played for about 4 hours before having to tune again, so it doesn't suffer from a problem other guitars I have owned had, which was a constant need for tuning- The bag is very basic, no padding of any kind. But that is all I wanted, as its purpose it to stop the guitar from getting dust. I won't be carrying it anywhere.- The strap is a bit short for an adult tall man, has no padding. But it holds the guitar properly.So a functional kit, good enough to start playing or for recreational playing (my case), but no luxury or awesome features. It is a good starting point though. For upgrading I would get a good amplifier first, a new strap, add some pedals or effects box, then finally change the guitar itself for a better model.

It is really important that before reading this that I got it on Prime Day for less than £70 so the review is written from that point of view.For the price you would have to expect some compromises so I will go through everything best I can and from the point of view of a gift for a 11 year old beginner.THE GUITARFirst thing to mention is that the guitar is not set-up and ready to play out of the box. There were strings on it but there was a large bow and the intonation was way off. A pleasant little extra though is that they did supply the correct sized allen keys to adjust the truss rod which sorted out the bowing and the bridge which sorted out the action. I did have to pull a couple of the saddles on the bridge back as far as they would go to intonate (you will need a cross head screwdriver for this) but intonation was possible and successful. For this reason I would recommend opening the box before giving it as a gift so you can get all this out of the way and they can play it out of the box. I'd recommend getting an experienced guitarist to do it for you but if this isn't possible then you can find tutorials on the web. However, it is essential that this is done or else your new guitarist will think they can't play when it's just the guitar being naughty.The overall quality of the guitar is surprisingly good. The knobs all work, and the 5 pickup combinations all sound like they are supposed to. Dare I say it, the second position even sounds a bit like a proper strat and with a decent amp the 'quack' is definitely there! The neck feels cheap but then IT IS CHEAP so this is no problem. As for the looks, I've seen one minor pain blemish, other than that it looks great! We got the black one and it has a funky looking sparkly scratchplate. My kids loves it.THE AMPIt works, it's loud enough for a beginner, it's clean sounding, it's okay. This is the part of the package that would need the quickest upgrade if you actually start to get good on guitar BUT it's fine, better than I thought it would be. It's got good bass to it, the mids and treble isn't fantastic (it's a struggle to make it sound like a strat with it) and the gain is not great, you won't be able to get a good rock sound out of it, but it's fine, especially if you're learning simple and/or strummy stuff. If you had a little more cash to throw at this I would recommend one of 2 options:a) buy a better practice amp - you can't go much wrong with a Fender/Squier but it will cost you.b) buy an effects pedal. I've played my cheap zoom pedal through it and can get most of the sounds that I want so this might be a good option. Especially since you can transfer the peddle to a larger amp when you get better at guitar (plus, learning how to use a pedal is a good skill in itself). If you do this you will need to buy another cable.THE OTHER STUFFSTAND - Although not pictured with the black guitar I did get a stand. It's okay, my son is a little clumsy so I bought a stand with a strap that holds the neck for extra security but this is not essential as the stand supplied is sturdy and perfectly functional.CAPO - A nice touch throwing in a CAPO. It's a nice grippy one and easy to apply. If you don't know what a capo is it will enable the player to play songs in different keys (basically speaking) by fretting all the strings at a chosen fret. It's something every player will realise they need at some point.PICKS - a good selection of shapes, sizes, and thicknesses. I haven't counted them but you get about 15 or so, I think.TUNER - another nice touch and it works, and is easy to use.STRAP - It's the kind of quality you get when you get a free one on the strong of Total Guitar, not great, but does the job. No throwing it over your shoulder though.TREM BAR - Err, it's a trem bar. Seems to work and the guitar doesn't detune as a result.SPARE STRINGS - not the best quality but fine for beginners.CABLE - Seems fine, moulded well and fairly long for bedroom practice. Nice a clean too.GIG BAG - This is about as cheap as they can make it. I would be surprised if it lasted a year of regular use but it works and the zip isn't broken or anything.OVERALL:There is everything you need in this package to start playing and for a ridiculously low price I can't really complain. Very very pleased indeed. The AMP is the only thing that lets it down slightly but like I said, a pedal will solve most of your woes here and it's perfectly loud enough. Just remember to set the guitar up in advance of handing it over and you will receive a huge smiley face from the recipient.Like I said, I got this sub £70 on Prime Day, I would say it's still worth purchasing at a price up to about £100. It's still a good package perhaps up to about £130 but if it's this price I would also consider other options.Hope this helps!

Excelente instrumento , mástil con escala corta de 22 trastes, ideal para principiantes, viene con todo lo ofertado, es más, trae púas para todo el año que viene, no las he contado pero diez como poco, eso si, demasiado blandas para mi gusto. La guitarra esta bien, salvo el detalle del diapasón algo elevado (nada importante) y una pequeña falla de fábrica en la pintura del cuerpo, nada que no se pueda solucionar con un vinilo o pegatina para disimular algo que casi no se ve. el sonido bastante fino y sin ruidos en el amplificador.(si le subes el volumen a tope obviamente notarás un zumbido, pero eso pasa con todo).El cable algo malillo, la correa algo peor, pero acorde con el precio, el amplificador bien, sonido perfecto para sus 20 vatios, el soporte de la guitarra perfecto y fuerte, la funda es para transporte y guardado, pero no protege la guitarra, ya que es una "bolsa" de transporte, seria conveniente adquirir una algo mas rígida, pero eso ya será cuando cambies a una guitarra de mas alta gama. El afinador electrónico, super, pude afinarla perfectamente en menos de 5 minutos ya que venía de fábrica sin ajustar las cuerdas.Si lo que quieres es aprender a tocar la guitarra eléctrica es perfecta te lo dice un novato principiante super ilusionado con el instrumento.

Very nice set for this price.Buy a decent set of strings, plectrum and cord, to go with it, the supplied cord was not functioning and shorted.The guitar definetely needs setup. Strings are half an inch above the fretboard.Easy for me, but otherwise find someone to setup the fretboard and neck.You get a lot of value for your money. It’s a fine starter kit. Buy decent strings, a cord, have it setup and become a rock god ! :)
