Great alternative fuel cap. Fits well and does the job. However I bought the black and I should have bought the one with green inside for petrol. I did ask before purchase giving full info and was told it would fit which it does but just wrong colour if your being picky. Black is for diesel apparently.

The locking mechanism used on this version doesn't match the OE mechanism that BMW use, but it still fits and securely locks. I didn't check the pricing for an OE filler cap but I have no doubt that this was cheaper and being a Febi product will last.

The little connector that secured the cap to the petrol flap rotted during lockdown. I didn't think I needed it, as I could just leave the petrol cap on the ground while I filled up. After driving off having forgotten the cap because all the palaver of pay at pump, collecting receipt, wearing gloves, wearing a mask etc., I realised how useful that little connector was! This is a perfect fit for my 2012 MINI Cooper, R56 model.
