5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing strings and great value too.
I have had these on my Overwater by Tanglewood bass for over a year now. I wash my hands before playing and wipe the strings and fretboard down with a clean dry microfibre cloth afterwards. They still look, feel and sound as they did when new! These things are going to last a long time before needing changed (this is likely true for all flatwound strings), however, given that they are priced more or less the same as typical roundwound strings, the value here is incredible. Most other sets of flats are 2-3x the price.I would recommend these strings for anyone but especially for value conscious players and beginners. Flatwounds are so smooth to play on you may find that you are able to play for longer than on roundwounds. Anyone that plays a lots of slides would really appreciate this.Tone wise, I would describe them as being well rounded and not overly dull. They do have a brightness to them but it is certainly very different to roundwounds. They are not super bright like roundwounds and if you absolutely need the brightness for whatever reason, these won't do. However, for daily practice, sweaty gigs or just to try something different, definitely give these a go!Strange bonus that I wasn't expecting, they don't leave that awful metallic smell all over your fingers that roundwounds do.5 YEAR UPDATE: Yes 5 years later, I still have the same set fitted. They haven't seen a lot of use in that time but they still seem to be in really good playable condition.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lower price does not mean lower quality
I've always played roundwound. I really fancied flatwound, but did not want to pay well over £30 to give it a go. I chose these, I admit, attracted to the lower price (compared to others). It turns out, I am really impressed with the quality of these Adagio strings. For me, the feel is obviously different to what I've been playing, but the difference in sound too is amazing. I've been playing for most of my free time today and---from what I've felt and heard--- I cannot see why I would want to seek another brand. I recommend them to you.
4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful tone, excellent price!
I'm very pleased with these strings. At first I was weary due to some of the reviews, but I felt for the price it worth a punt.I must say, each string was packaged well and individually packaged. 20 mins, job was done, a quick stretch and tune up and I'm very happy with the tone of these strings on my Squier P Bass. Not a fray in sight and the red material pops nicely. Sweet as I say. Buy some!

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy cheap buy twice.
Reviews seemed positive first string leader split from the string before it was anywhere close to tension. Very disappointed. Brand new Squire Affinity Jazz Bass and just wanted to try some flats.
5.0 out of 5 stars I was sceptical, but these are fantastic
I have played all sorts of flats over the years including the premium 'Steve Harris' offerings from Rotosound and the La Bella flats that Jamerson used on the Motown records. I didn't expect a lot from these for the price but have been really pleasantly surprised.I've got them on a 50s Fender Precision and they sound as good to my ear as any of the other strings I have used that are much more expensive. Flats tend to last better than roundwounds in my experience so I'm hoping to be enjoying these for a while. In terms of tension, flats can be a bit of a nightmare with bending the neck and creating a high action. No such problems here - everything plays really well and feels great.
5.0 out of 5 stars This beginner thinks they're smooth, nice sounding, and a fantastic value
Upfront disclaimer: I'm a beginner and have no reference to other strings. However, I changed to these to see if they would be any easier on my fingers as I was learning, and to reduce that horrible finger scraping noise us noobs make. Wow what a difference. While others on the same online course as me (look up Josh Fossgreen Beginner2Badass on the internet) are showing the expected signs of sore fingertips in the early days, I'm hardly noticing a difference from day 1 to day 45, and the sound is much cleaner. Yes they are a little duller sounding than round wounds, but that's true of all flats. On my Peavey Millennium they sound fine, though they were bought to go on my Epiphone Tbird - which brings me to my only issue with them: the bridge end ring/stopper/whatever is larger than on my other strings so they wouldn't fit through the bridge on my Tbird. Disappointing since it's not mentioned anywhere about that being something to watch out for, but I'm new so perhaps I should've know from some other info. Anyway, they sound great and have helped me to tweak the Peavey into a smooth player.I can't say if how they are lasting but after a couple of months of about an hour a day playing I can't hear or feel a difference and the bass stays in tune day to day without more than a tiny adjustment.I'll be buying them again for my acoustic, and at this price I'm not losing anything if they show themselves to be sub standard once I can play much better.
Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo
Corde ottime. Suono forte e molto gradevole.
not happy
I have a long scale base but the E string is to long and broke poorly made didn't try the rest I read other people had the same problem should have listened
Unas cuerdas planas geniales por ese precio.
Buenas cuerdas. Por el precio no he visto nada mejor nunca. Es una cuerda de bordón plano, y el sonido en mi bajo es genial. He repetido el pedido.
