This was just the perfect size for my kitchen. Came very well packaged to not have to worry about logistical damage. It's got a sturdy build and is just the right amount of heavy to not move around when writing on it but not too heavy that you're worried about your toes. The thread rope is sturdy enough and stays in place. It's also long enough to fit on the nail and still have room to fit something else on it. I have this hanging from one but can also hang a clock from the same nail. Since it's a thread rope, you can always knot it as you wish to shorten it. Comes with one chalk which should be enough for a while. You can rest the chalk on the bottom block of the board. Perfectly suits my needs.

A good chalk board for our kitchen. I bought some quality chalks to use with it and they write and clean off very well. Nice style and hangs well.

For anyone who is wondering, you can use chalk sticks and liquid chalk pens but the liquid pens need to be rubbed or with a damp cloth and the chalk need like one of those rubbers but the quality of the board is really good and perfect for brick colours however I would buy separate pens and chalk and rubbers for the chalk board as the chalk come broke in most cases,

I suppose it’s fine for a chalkboard, but I thought I was buying the one that said “Kitchen Notes,” which is what I wanted for my, well, kitchen. It’s why I picked this one. What arrived is one that simply said “Notes” - not the end of the world, but that’s not what I thought I was getting. A couple of pieces of broken chalk came with. The string is a bit flimsy and long, so had to tie it to make it shorter. Overall, it’s adequate, but not a glowing purchase.

Looks good in the traditional kitchen of our 1850s former vicarage. Bought it to jog my mother's memory since she began to suffer from dementia and it works really well as a memory jogger. Space enough to write day, date and main events of the day. Mum can read what is happening for herself and means we don't have to repeat it every few minutes(!)
