Longvida - an Extraordinary Helpful Form of Curcumin

I've been buying Longvida from ProHealth for years. I take it because it helps immensely with an incurable illness that I happen to have. There are several forms of curcumin which are more bioavailable than plain simple curcumin. Longvida is one of the nano-particle forms, and different authorities put it somewhere between 90 and 285 times more bioavailable than the kind of curcumin we get in Turmeric at the grocery store. (It seems bioavailability can be tricky to ascertain. See Google Scholar to find more about bioavailability, and some of the benefits of curcumin.) Over the years, I’ve come to rely on ProHealth’s unwavering quality… I’d feel it if the Longvida were reduced or corrupted somehow. The hardest thing is how much it costs, but the benefits that I’m lucky enough to get from it are worth the price.

Best Anti-Inflammatory; Only Longvida for Alzheimer's

With inflammation and arthritis on my mom's side of the family, and Alzheimer's on my dad's, the Longvida formulation of Curcumin is a must, as it's 285 times more bioavailable, and only Longvida passes through the blood brain barrier to contact the brain plaques believed to cause Alzheimer's (now established as an inflammatory disease).Observations: (1) Those in India with Curcumin in their diets have the lowest Alzheimer's rates; I take it daily, and the co-benefit of pain reduction it provides to inflamed muscles and joints is elite. (2) I used to take one 1000mg capsule of ProHealth's Longvida, but now I use one 500mg cap twice a day for around-the-clock coverage. (3) Its veggie capsules optimize its release and ensure a vegetarian- and vegan-friendly product. I use this product to prevent inflammation and have been satisfied with a previous brand. This appears to be the same and does a good job.

Misleading and very high serving size

I found the product description to be misleading as if the manufacturer had collaborated with UCLA on the development of this product. In fact, this company had nothing to do with the development at UCLA.The front of the bottle says 500 mg but the label on the back says a serving size is 1,000 mg. That’s a very high dose and most other manufacturers aren’t going that high, or in the case of one that did, advising splitting the 1,000 mg dose into 500 mg in the morning and 500 mg in the evening. This manufacturer didn’t bother to recommend a split dose. I hope I didn’t injure my liver using it.

After one month I feel such a difference!

All I can say is after 30 days of taking this twice/day, I have more energy, mental sharpness and less achiness and tension after a stressful week and after really intense workouts. I am a 63-year-old female and suffered most of last year with a virus-generated immune system disorder. I was tired ALL the time and often would need to take 3/4-hour naps, had "fuzzy" brain and just felt like I was never going to feel good again. With a completely new regime of allergy shots, vitamins and nutrition, I managed to climb my way back to health. But now I have felt a complete boost in how strong, alert and also calm I feel. I hope it's not my imagination and it's truly this product that is banishing the inflammation and making such a difference! Month two beginning today. I selected this product because they said it can penetrate the brain barrier more effectively and hopefully help guard against Alzheimer's, which my mother suffered from. Inflammation is the source of so many ailments ... Hope this is truly a remedy! Thank you!
