Description:
This beautiful, pure, Soil Association certified organic, chemical-free henna powder is suitable for hair colouring. This Henna is excellent for colouring hair as it finely sifted it has a smooth none-gritty texture. It is produced in Rajasthan, India. Within the the foil packet the henna is in a vacuum sealed plastic bag so that it stays fresh. Henna will usually give brown hair red/brown undertones. Henna will give light coloured hair - grey, white or blonde a more orange/red tone. When henna is used with indigo for hair colouring it can give shades of different browns to black. The resulting colour depends on the method, how long you leave it on for and the proportion of henna and indigo used. There are several ways of combing henna with indigo. You can either mix the henna together with indigo and apply, or you can colour you hair first with henna and then colour your hair with indigo. The latter gives a stronger colour. This 100 gram packet is approximately enough to colour shoulder length hair. However it does depend how thick your hair is. Fine hair will need less henna and thick or very curly hair will need more henna. For mid back length hair you will need 2 x 100g packets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful hair colour with a reddish touch
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I have been using this product for dying my hair and it's amazing! Originally I have dark brown hair and this makes my hair look fantastic with a bit of reddish touch. I've received so many compliments about my hair since using this product. It does give my grey hair an orange finish, but for me it looks like having highlights, so it actually makes my hair look even better. My friend, who mostly has grey hair, she's using this product, but after this she's putting some indigo on her hair, otherwise her hair would be only orange. With the extra indigo her hair is dark with a beautiful bluish touch.I love this product because it's natural, but it does take more time to dye my hair with this, than with a general hair dying product. I do think it's worth the extra effort though.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality henna
The henna worked much better than I expected, the colour was lovely and rich, and it covered my greys really well, they came out a more coppery colour whereas my brown hair turned auburn. I added warm water to make a yogurt-like consistency, added a little distilled vinegar to the mix and waited about 20 mins before applying. I left the dye on for about 2.5 hours. It takes a few days for the colour to develop fully, it deepened over a few days and appeared much richer.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love this henna!
Please read this review carefully as I added highlights instead of doing the whole head*For a while I've been wanting to put ginger tones on my already bleached hair (not a full head of bleach) but I didn't want to damage it with conventional dyes and they don't ever last very long. So I recently came across Henna powder and I am very happy with the results! I mixed the powder up with apple cider vinegar and left it over night for the colour to release. I found that I didn't have to use much of the powder, which means that 100g will last me a while. I'd say I used about 30g the first time I did it and 20g the next time, I applied it as if I was putting in highlights with a highlighter brush which didn't create much mess. The first time I did it I left the henna on for 2 hours and it went a really vibrant orange. 2 weeks later, the colour had faded a bit in parts but was still a nice light golden-orange colour. The second time I did it, which was a few days ago (see pictures, it's a bit more orange in person), it turned out a really nice colour and I left it for 1 hour and a half. Because I have oily hair type, I can't wash my hair once a week or use conditioner, I try to wash it twice a week and use dry shampoo in between. the less you wash your hair the longer the colour lasts of course. I also find that washing it with lukewarm-cold water stops the colour from fading.I highly recommend this henna because the quality is fantastic and it hasn't damaged my hair. I don't blow dry my hair and I wouldn't ever bleach my hair over the bits that were already bleached so my hair was in good condition prior to using henna. If you only add highlights to your hair it's less messy and is easier to touch up again!
4.0 out of 5 stars Really pleased with the result
First time using henna. Bit unsure about this 'experiment'! Ordered and it came the next day. Well packaged. Instructions had a hole in the middle so I asked my friend, who has done this before, to give me some tips and I thoroughly read the reviews before I started! I have short, fine, dark hair with some white hair coming through. Have always chemical dyed before. I mixed up half the packet with 75ml fresh lemon juice and 75ml warm water. Left in the airing cupboard overnight. Left on for 3 hours the next day while I did my cleaning. I'm pleased with the result, though my 7 year old thinks it's too orange (but she has an opinion on everything!). Next time I will just mix up a 1/4 of the full packet as I threw alot of the mix away. My hair feels healthy, white hairs fully covered, and my scalp is not itchy (which it usually is after applying chemical dye). This is the new way forward for me. Actually really pleased with the whole 'experiment'.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good product

3.0 out of 5 stars Not sure if it worked
I purchased the indigo powder hoping it would help me tackle my stubborn whites. I mixed it with dark brown henna from the same brand and followed the mixing instructions precisely. I left it on all night. My pigmented hair had a nice dark sheen to it but I don’t think the whites were dyed any darker than when I used only henna in previous dyeing sessions. My natural colour is peculiar - terribly brown with red undertones when under the sun but indoors it looks black. This explains why my hair looks like two different colours in the photos. You can see my white hair has been slightly coloured which helps it blend better with the rest of my hair but it hasn’t been fully dyed.My conclusion is that I’m not sure if adding indigo to my henna helped but I’ll keep trying and update this review if there are any changes. It is possible that at the very least, the indigo will help the colour to last longer. Some people have mentioned henna drying out their hair. For me, this is not a problem. I don’t think the henna actually dries the hair internally, I think it is the residual powder that makes the hair feel dry. When the henna dries it does feel caked on one’s head and hair and even after an initial wash, but a good hair conditioner can easily solve that.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works for me
I use this as a first step to cover my greys. I mix with water and apply to my hair for 1hour and it turns my white hair in a hilarious halloweeny bright orange and then I move to step 2 and use indigo to turn my greys into my normal colour (medium brown). I think there are different ways to apply it so you get different shades (some people use lemon juice or leave it overnight, some wrap their head to keep it warm etc). For me as it is only part 1 of a 2 stage process the orange is ok as it provides a good base for indigo to work on (indigo will not cover white hair) and I get good grey cover without damaging my hair or my skin.I have sensitive hair and scalp and never had any issues but everyone is different so do a test to make sure.
