I bought this cable to run from the router downstairs to a switch upstairs. We have 1Gb braoadband and this cable is perfect for that. Speed tests show that we get our quoted speed upstairs now, so couldn't be happier. It's a bit stiffer than your average cable, probably due to shieding, but it's still easy to work with. I highly recommend it.

All's well that ends well!
Although I had to wait more than two weeks for delivery and the "snagless" strain-relief boots (though fine) are not EXACTLY as pictured, the patch cables DID arrive in time for my intended use and all five tested perfectly for proper termination and continuity. (Since I have only older computers, I do not have the means to test up-to-date ethernet cables for maximum speed.) As well, when it APPEARED that the original order had somehow gotten "stalled" in transit and I contacted Bolo about investigating, the seller responded promptly to address the issue. Thank you for the relatively-smooth transaction!

Update (May 2025): My original runs are still going strong, and I've now implemented additional runs using this vendor's shielded cable (I've also used unshielded cable from this vendor, for those who might ultimately use unshielded cable). Performance continues to be great. As long as this vendor doesn't get greedy (as happened with some other cable vendors who started to build a reputation), they'll officially be my "go-to" vendor from here on out, and I suspect they'll continue to amass a similar following. Keep up the nice work, Cable Matters, and please don't get greedy!Original review: This product is a good balance between quality and price. There are cheaper cables out there but I consider Cable Matters to be a reliable vendor. Be prepared for your cable run to be slightly more involved if you're using shielded cable, as it's somewhat thicker and less flexible than unshielded. And read up on shielded vs unshielded to see which is best for your use case. Shielded may be very important or needless overkill that just costs you more. But if you do need shielded cable, it's still easy to use and install, so no need to worry too much. This cable has worked well for me, and it was just the right length for my use case. They offer plenty of colors, which is nice if you need that for color-coding or matching an aesthetic if part of the run will be exposed. And the connectivity / signal quality is great, of course.
Work Great, Handle at Least 2.5G
These are really nice cables. According to the lights on my router, they can handle at least 2.5G, they are fairly thick and a little on the stiff side. They plug and unplug very smoothly, and overall feel very high quality. The snag-less design feels good and should be effective. The 1ft cables even came packaged in a long box, i.e. not bent. Glad I returned some cheaper ones and went with these!
