Very easy to fit to the car and to secure the items on top - we put one of the spare straps around the three items first to secure them together then used the straps on the racks to secure to the car - the load did not shift in the slightest. Our car has good headroom but I can see how the strap inside the car may annoy you if you do not have this. We made sure the top of the car was clean and put a blanket on the roof first just to ensure no sctratching. All in all, a great little item for occasional use - highly recommended.

Great buy! I was a little worried about taking boards on the motorway at high speeds using these racks, however it handled the boards really well, even sitting at a comfortable eighty and then being subjected to a proper throwing around on a rutted farm track in Devon.There is plenty of room in the ties that come attached to the rack to strap up to five boards, however I did use some extra ties to make sure. I have had up to five boards on top of these racks, there may be room to squeeze in some more but it did start to look a little unstable.Great product and a cheap alternative to buying a full roof rack.

I needed to get some decking but didn't want to pay for delivery so thought I'd give this a go - I maxed out on the load with eight 3.6m boards so was understandably worried but TBH there was nothing to worry about, it did the job very well and is light and compact. The only thing you have to watch is speed bumps where long loads see-saw a bit but as long as you take it easy its fine, it'll probably scratch the paint but I'm sure you could get round that - I don't worry because any scratches will blend in with all the others.....I'm tall so just had to make sure the straps didn't clash with my head but not a problem and anyone who sits in the back of my car is a passenger doesn't count anyway.All in all very good piece of kit that will pay back in no time

As I have a saloon car, practicality is not is strongest point. Purchased this to keep in boot for that unplanned visit to a diy or furniture store. The item has been used once to carry two cot sides and an 8' x 9" length of plywood. On an oldish BMW 3 tightening the straps hard appeared to press in the roof, but only at the rear. Finding a better position on the roof might help. The roof was fine when the rack removed. Good value and may get me out a fix at some point, but consider the strength of your car roof and don't use the load rating of the roof rack. Also, while the straps offer lateral support, consider the load sliding forward under braking. They do supply two extra long straps in the pack.

Absolutely brilliant, so light and easy to put on, very flexible. I've used this numerous times and when it's not needed, it fits easily into the boot. I've carried chests of drawers, bikes and beds on the roof of my Nissan Micra with this. So much nicer than having to lift those heavy racks onto the roof and do up nuts and bolts etc. Also, because it rides low onto the roof, it's fab for people like me who are only 5'2". Leaves no scratches on the roof of the car.

This is such a brilliant product - we bought it for a camping trip and were a little worried, as it seemed a bit too good/bargainous to be true, but it did exactly what it says on the tin: really easy to fit, really easy to strap whatever you want to. My husband is 6'4" and we were a bit concerned that the straps would get in his way while driving, but it was absolutely fine. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Really good piece of equipment.I use it on my car to bring a 2 person kayak to different locations and after a full summer using it,its still in one piece. It is relatively straight forward to put together. I would give one piece of advice to anyone purchasing this,buy a separate set of tie down straps if transporting large items because the straps provided are not as good as a standard set(especially if transporting a kayak etc), but the structure and storage of this roof rack is excellent.
