DW40 has a variety of uses industrially. As a rust inhibitor it is superb and,after one application,rusting and scaling can be removed with a wire brush. Where there is particularly heavy or stubborn rusting,a second application may be necessary to help remove the corrosion and leave the metal surface fully protected with a micro-thin oily film. After use the product may be removed using a solvent,hot detergent wash or by wiping. An oil based product which also contains solvent that allows rapid penetration to inaccessible areas. The solvent evaporates leaving an oily film which lubricates the components enabling the immovable parts to be manipulated. Use as a penetrating and release agent when heavy duty threaded fastenings become seized either due to the effects of corrosion or heat.

Good quality, works and smells just like WD-40. In fact I found it a little better at doing the job. I use on everything even polishes up plastic on Hoover's etc

Had two jobs that needed this kind of oil and was going to get Duck Oil but that was far too expensive. It may be better but cost is everything these days, so, I got this for the first job as a test. What was the first job? Soaking of glow plugs, eight of the swine. Yes I could have bought that stalwart of sprays, WD40, but you hit that cost issue again and this product worked brilliantly. It soaked into each and every glow plug thread and with a combination of heat and gentle, very gentle, persuasion over time all eight plugs came out without breaking. Luck ? Who knows, but I think this stuff made a difference, a major difference, and at a much lower price than the alternatives so it works for me. If it works as well on the rust on the underside of the car and keeps the MOT chap happy at its next test then I’ll be a happy camper. Though how the tester imagines a 20 year old car would survive that long without a bit of discolouration on the underside of a vehicle in the UK with all the salt thrown in the road is beyond me. Versatile product and a decent amount for the price. I’d buy again.
