Pros : It is light for back/go packing. It is fairly sharp and comes with blade tip covers and a head cover. It is ideal for stripping baanches upto 3" thick, cutting kindling, cutting and splitting fire wood or severing upto 1" thick rope. Its handle is cord bound for anti slip. Cons: Its light weight and small size limits the size of wood easily cut. The corded handle is thin, making prolonged use less than comfortable without modifying. Probably best not to use as a splitting knife as unsure how well it would stand up to repeated hammering. Conclusion : in my opinion as an emergency hatchet or for cutting light to medium fire wood for camping or SHTF, this is a tool well worth getting, if your looking to cut big logs then go for a large axe or saw. I have this in my go bag along side a folding saw, a splitting knife and a hand chainsaw to cover all eventualities and combined they weigh less than a full axe. this must be seen as a light axe that could double as a camp meat cleaver, jobs its ideal for and not an axe to clear woodland.
5.0 out of 5 stars Its £11.38, what do people expect?
I have two other hatchets. One with 300 gram head weight and one 600 gram head weight. 300g was £64 and the 600g, £130. Great hatchets but i wanted one smaller for a day sack and this suits my needs. sharpening three, 2 inch sticks for a billy can tripod.... Tick... knock off spindley twigs from a branch.... tick. break 1 - 2 inch diameter wood for a wood burning stove (hiking cooking)..... tick. On top of that its cheap as chips. If i lose it i won't lose any sleep. Out of curiosity i will at some point see how long it'll take to cut a 6 inch log but with no head weight i think it'll take some time, if at all.As with most axes and hatchets it'll need honing in a little. Even so it was reasonably sharp out of the packet. On using the edge did dull quite quickly. In saying that i have taken it out 3 times so far, used it all three times. the edge has a few more miles in it yet and only now looking at sharpening (3 photos). Not a problem for me, its for a day sack, at most over night. Any longer and i'd take one of my prized hatchets. In short, dont expect to be felling any trees with this. Those that complain about safety issues confuse me. Its a cutting tool! Its only as safe as the user. Its not an axe, its bearly a hatchet but it cuts. When it comes to axes, bigger is safer. miss your target and the head goes into the ground not your leg. Hatchets, get on your knees to do the cutting. The ground is your safety screen.Mine came with a fabric belt loop cover along with the plastic point protecters. so the whole blade is covered keeping my pack cut free. (photo added)All in all you get what you pay for. This wont last forever but it is a reasonable bit of kit, at least for the price. if i lose it would i buy another. Maybe i would. At 200 gram heavier a fiskars would be much stronger but at a £40 to £50 price tag i'd expect much more and would shead a tear if it went missing.Hope this helps folks and happy hikingUPDATE: Occasional use over 3 years and still cutting well. Keep it sharp and it's fit for the job. One note is on getting the feel for the tool. Axe is mainly swung from the shoulder, hatchet powered from the elbow. This thing is from the wrist. Hence I've named it the 'woodpecker'.Take care all
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice and lightweight
Not heavy enough for serious log chopping but ideal for general trimming of branches or chopping small logs. Paracord handle wrap came undone but was easily remedied. Light weight to carry in your rucksack and comes with a cover for the blade.Overall, I'm happy with this item.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great
Lovely little axe easy grip well made solid piece of kit
3.0 out of 5 stars Very sharp
The item itself is what I ordered although it's a lot shorter than I expected. Unfortunately it's packaging leaves a lot to be desired. I had to cut it out of the over strength plastic cover with a knife and cut through the strap on through head cover making it usless. So 0 out of 5 for packaging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice little emergency hatchet.
Nice size and weight. Very thin and a great addition to an emergency kit or for camping.
Leggera, affilata ed ergonomica
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Ho comprato questa accetta per i piccoli utilizzi durante le scampagnate nei prati o nei boschi.
Estupenda relacion calidad/precio
Ligera y manejable, viene bien afilada.
