I was sick of hammers breaking on me, the heads were fine just the neck of the hammer is the fail point, lots of cheaper hammers are two piece metal, wood or fiberglass.This is one piece forged steel so it will never break or bend with normal use.You know the old saying lads... You buy cheap you buy twice!!! This is well with the €45 and it will probably outlive my children's grandchildren ha!Easily the best of the midrange hammers.Full body construction.Love the quality and the features.Some of the paint comes off with use but it give it a nice patina look.

This is a not a dissapointing hammer, being the 15oz it's quicker in the hand and good for any nails, but a heavier one would be needed for regular use with 5inch nails or more..Well balanced in the hand and strikes well and consistently.Minor criticism is that the finish on the Estwings has been steadily declining for the last ten years. Chamfering on the head is all over the place and the paint finish, although not crucial to a hammer is more than a niggle for this sort of money.Overall, value for money for a hand made and finished tool and ought to last a very long time.Would have given 4 star rating, only the way this company mislead with their wording is really not on.What am i talking about? There is no such thing as a 'short handled' version.Having worked over in the states, these do not exist. So expect a normal handle length...

Unverhältnismäßig schwer
Sicherlich sind Hämmer von Estwing von guter Qualität. Was mich jedoch an diesem Hammer wirklich gestört hat, ist das Gesamtgewicht. Bei einem Kopfgewicht von 425g habe ich nicht mit einem Gesamtgewicht von 981g gerechnet (mit einer Digitalwaage gewogen). Ich hatte mir diesen Hammer als leichtere Ergänzung zu einem Picard Latthammer bestellt (auch mit Ledergriff). Dieser hat ein Kopfgewicht von 700g, wiegt aber insgesamt nur 910g! Der Estwing ist daher zurückgegangen, vermutlich gibt es stattdessen einen Stanley Klauenhammer mit 453g/16oz, der ist mit einem Gesamtgewicht von 710g angegeben.

The paint does come off quick, but like cmon, it’s a hammer idk what you expect to happen. Also the bottom plate comes loose like immediately, but that puppy will not fall off so that personally doesn't bug me to much. Yeah it’s a great hammer, Go Estwing I love it
