Great device perfect for your door

Locks seem solid and are easy to fit but the screws are made of cheese. After the second one sheared at the head when only 1/3 of the way in n I gave up and used different screws. One sheared again flush with the door frame when I was trying to remove it which has been a pain.

The locks appeared to be perfect for my needs so ordered two more identical ones. I liked the fact the screws matched the item, so I used them, only to discover the screws are not good quality, I now have snapped screws sticking out my door frame, damage to the door frame that is not repairable. Why bother screwing people like that... pun intended.

So what could $22 bucks hurt spending it to try this out so i bought it and the only thing i didnt not like is i got uline instead of prime-line not a big deal theyre all the same. I installed it shortly after recieveing it with my impact driver with the 3"inch screws supplied and then i got my girlfriend to lock it so that i could test its strength, i am 200+lbs 5"8 heavy frame 56% muscle fairly good shape and my cousin who is 5"10 about 200 we both hip checked as well as tried 10+ times to boot the door in with just that no lockes engaged and shoulder check it... Result im pretty sure that even if u have a good new solid house your hinges would give out before this thing will-Great buy-Good value-Super Strong ( no to brag but ive ripped exterior doors on a new house off by accident and this held up to me)-800LBS to bust it-Quality product-Easy installation(you will need an impact driver for this)All in all a great purchase & have reccomended this to my friends and family.

These work very well. Much slicker and more effective than a chain guard against intruders.
I purchased 2 of these a few months ago for my son's home. (For security purposes but also my 2 yr old grandson had figured out how to unlock & open the doors and walk out!)These were $12.36 each at the time I bought them. (I see that they're $14.45 at the time of this review.) Anyway at the time the same item was $20 each at a local big box store.So these were a great price.As a lock they look pretty discrete and are actually very effective to secure the door. (Much more effective than a chain lock for instance.)They take a bit of getting used to for how to open them but are simple once you get the hang of them. Simple to install as well.This is a simple, solid, & effective item and reasonably priced here on Bolo.5 stars!

High quality lock that is easy to install
This is a good looking, very sturdy metal door-stopping lock that works well and is available at a good price. The video provided on the product listing was a helpful, step by step tutorial, and made it easy for me to set up, once I found my drill and the appropriate bits. One thing I will say is if you have a tight fitting door, you may need to chisel away some of the molding to get the lock into the narrow space between the door and the frame. I didn’t have to, thankfully, and the door closes easily with it on, but keep that in mind. The metal material is thick, and after locking it, I was unable to open the door, no matter how hard I tried, which is a nice sense of security to have. It also looks nicer than the ball-and-chain type locks you see in hotels, which I was considering getting until I decided on this one. I’m about to get another one for my garage door as well. Very satisfied!
