    Calculated Brilliance

The name Aculon was coined by combining the terms accuracy and precision to create a name that represents Nikon's desire to bring detail to life through the use of binoculars. The Aculon A211 7x35 certainly lives up to the brief. Employing a large objective lens diameter of 35mm in a high-quality Porro prism design, these high-performing binoculars deliver a wonderfully bright, wide field of view. Even in poor light conditions superior light transmission is made possible thanks to Nikon’s multilayer lens coating resulting with the image clarity and flat field of view demanded by nature enthusiasts. Working to eliminate optical imperfections, the aspherical eyepiece lenses offer high-contrast and distortion-free edge-to-edge sharpness. Ensuring you get the very best from these recreational binoculars while preventing damage to the very environment they allow you to marvel at, the Aculon A211 uses eco-glass, free of arsenic and lead, throughout.

One solution to the problem was to purchase a decent pair of binoculars as an alternative to buying a more portable telescope.Lists of recommended binoculars for sky-watching are published regularly on the internet and elsewhere. On one of those, I found a recommendation for these binoculars based on their light-capturing abilities at this magnification and lens size(10x50). They were also consider to be very good value for money by the reviewer against the other more expensive brands on the list.Looking around for the best online price, Bolo came out top. Reading the reviews of Bolo customers, most seemed happy with their purchase. So I decided to buy a pair. I don’t have any regrets. They suit my needs pretty well. Where I live, in average Bortle 4 skies, they enable me to spot the more prominent deep sky objects , eg Orion M42, M43 - but without the greater clarity and detail I’d get from my telescope. Their great advantage is that they’re available to use in an instant: grab and go.Just one thing - the adjustable diopter, others have mentioned that it’s too stiff. I agree. Initially, I found it difficult to adjust to my eye because the movement was so stiff and uneven that I was unable to get a precise calibration quickly. It really is trial and an awful lot of error until you move it to the sweet spot. Unless you think that all good quality binoculars are the same, I own a pair of 8x30 Carl Zeiss whose diopter moves smoothly yet securely. It’s a nuisance that these Nikon aren’t the same, especially if you’re sharing the binoculars with someone else. Other than that, I’ve found little to criticise. But five stars for their light-capturing ability - which is really what they’re all about for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable quality for the price!

    R. · 3 June 2020

These binoculars are fantastic and a joy to use. The image quality is better than my other binoculars which cost twice as much. There is a bit of distortion visible at the far outer edges but this is normal with all binoculars. The centre of the view is crystal clear though, and the field of view is nice and wide. As others have said the objective lens caps are a little flimsy and are prone to fall out if you're not careful. Strap is good quality and carry case is fine for the price. The eye relief is quite short, so if you need to keep spectacles on, you would struggle to get a full field of view. Overall the build quality is great for the price, and they feel reassuringly solid to hold. Out of all my binoculars, I find these the most fun to use. Recommended 100%

Quality imaging for a wide range of uses; bird spotting particularly good. Only niggle is about the method of attaching the lens covers to the 'neck band' when the Binoculars are in use; the large covers drop off too easily.Have had the binoculars for 6 weeks and carry them with me wherever I travel. Have had a good quality pair for 40 years and just amazed at the increased quality of the Nikon 10x50User would benefit from using a tripod in certain circumstances.I would recommend to both the professional or pleasure user.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Value and Quality

    I.C. · 9 May 2016

I have used binos for over 40years both professionally and recreationally - invariably the auto focus variety - until now when my vision is no longer 20:20. Having done extensive research in shops and on line comparing quality against price I finally found what I thought was the ideal pair of 10 x 50s in a shop at £499. At that price I however baulked and did not buy them but instead came home and immediately ordered these Aculon A211 10 x 50 on Saturday afternoon and in doing so was prepared to accept the risk that they might not be ideal. They arrived the next day, a Sunday, and I have to say are perfect in all respects. Crystal clear vision, easy focusing and hugely better than the £499 pair in the shop. If you want 10 x 50 binos at an affordable price buy these.

5.0 out of 5 stars All the Functionality and Quality I was hoping for.

    J.B. · 25 July 2016

Absolutely Superb. I previously bought a pair of binoculars for £39.99 that lacked clarity, and which wouldn't close sufficiently to align with my pupils - which are well within the 5.5 cm - 7 cm human range. These Nikon binoculars are a joy to use: they cater for the full interpupillary range, have extend-able hoods on the eye-pieces, have a good depth of field and razor sharp clarity. Moreover, the ocular adjustment on the right eye has a wide range and easily accommodates the significant vision disparity between my left and right eyes. Yes, they're a bit heavy, but a twitcher I'm not and bought them to observe the activity around the bay of my holiday flat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good quality and image.

I use these for night sky viewing. The quality is as you'd expect from Nikon (high). Easy to focus and adjust.Good quality carrying case makes them easier to travel with. It's a hard choice whether to go for the 8 or 10 times zoom and I'd probably recommend going for the 8x40's for first time night sky watchers as you will notice less hand shake and they are lighter. These 10x50's are still really enjoyable but rather tiring on the arms. For those that haven't tried night sky watching through bino's then you'll be amazed at the amount of satellites going over you. Easy spot a dozen every minute and I'm in a high light pollution area.

These are excellent binoculars. The image is very bright and sharp, and they are well collimated. Magnification is high enough to be useful but not so high that you can't hold them still. The construction quality is very good. The whole unit is rubberised. I'd definitely recommend them for airshows or casual astronomy.

Birçok dürbün kullandım Çin malı yerli adi kaliteli ancak Nikon adına yakışır bir kalite sunuyor. Japon tekniği ve kalitesini yaşıyorsunuz resmen. Çok ama çok net. Ancak tripot adaptörü çıkması kurulan onu eksi yazdım

This is my first pair of binoculars. Am very happy . The clarity is remarkable and the distance covered is huge .Has a nice look and the weight is also easy to manage.Am yet to use it in reduced light conditions.Nikon lenses and the brand has proved itself again.
