This stuff exists solely on the promise of cleaning and soothing the face after a close shave, and boy does it deliver on that promise.A favourite of traditional shavers the world over, you'll often find this stuff nestled between a straight razor and a tub of similarly branded shaving cream on the counters of barbers. It is the choice of the professional, and it's also my choice of post-shave splash.This aftershave manages to combine feelings of freshness, liveliness and revival with a soothing, almost numbing quality. It contains witch hazel, an astringent, which closes the pores and relieves the minor irritation caused by dragging a super-sharp bit of metal across your face and neck. Allantoin, also present in this splash, promotes healing by altering the skin's inflammatory response.The ingredients of this aftershave also include alcohol, as expected from a traditional aftershave, eucalyptus, menthol and limonene. All these combine to give a very refreshing, cooling and reviving feeling to the skin on contact, or shortly thereafter. The scent is, predictably given the ingredients, a kind of citrus, menthol hit that's masculine but never overpowering, and quickly fades to subtly before ever becoming stale and unpleasant.I suffered terribly with razor bumps when I used to shave with the a cartridge razor. Once I made the shift to a double-edged razor, the problem all but disappeared. Now I've started to use this stuff I barely get any bumps, even on an extremely close shave. It really is the best aftershave I've ever used - which is good, because I bought 400ml of the stuff! Should last a fair while.

This aftershave does exactly "what it says on the tin (bottle :-)", it tones and refreshes your skin. Love slapping this stuff in after a close shave, leaves skin feeling smooth and clean. I'm convinced this larger bottle is a slightly different (better) formulation than the smaller bottles. Scent seems to last longer and is more pungent. Do remember that this is an aftershave, not an EDT or EDP, so although I have commented about the duration of the scent lasting longer than the smaller bottles, it still won't last that long, though in my opinion that is a good thing and what I expect of an aftershave. It's purely meant to refresh and disinfect your face after a shave.

A regular purchase for me, one 400ml bottle lasts a year almost exactly! The scent is a typical proraso fresh scent...zingy citrus with astringent eucalyptus...very pleasing. This is a soothing balm-like splash on after shave and not an evening eau de toilette style after shave. It contains soothing moisturisers to heal the skin after shaving. It is very effective! Made to be used liberally....the scent will fade in an hour or two leaving your skin feeling soft and supple. Excellent scent after a morning shave! I love this stuff! Because I also shave my head like Telly Savalas...I end up splashing this stuff quite liberally and rubbing it into my cranium...couldn't be without it.

Nice and much cheaper than buying the 100ml bottle.Slap some on your 'boat race' after shaving for a cooling and very refreshing effect. Small cuts may sting a little but even that gives an impression of cleansing. The clean and refreshing smell is invigorating.No stale 'after pong' that lingers into something unpleasant, the aroma simply fades away into oblivion and won't interfere with any other cologne you may wish to apply later.
