After numerous uses my batteries are still going strong, unlike my last scales that used a watch battery which drained every couple of weeks or less if the scales were used. Another good advantage that these scales have is that they are so easy to keep clean.These are a brilliant set of scales. They are acrurate and well calibrated. I love the way they stay on as I add more to a bowl etc. so I can accurately determine the final weight. The scales match my worktops so they blend in well and they are much larger than my last set. The best thing I like is the fact that the scales take regular batteries so one can use rechargeable ones instead of constantl;y having to search for those flat watch batteries that many other scales use. I recommend this produst as I have used it many times now and it is impressive both in looks and in functionality. Disclaimer - I did "not" receive this item for free in order to give a fair (that's a laugh) and honest (never seen a truthful paid for review yet) review.

I am very happy with this. I usually prefer mechanical scales but need something space-saving. My old mechanical scales were small and falling apart and a pain to store in a cupboard. This is nice and slim - a bit smaller than I though, but that's good! It's perfectly big enough. I tested it with my old mechanical scales and they weighed the same, for the same items - so it seems accurate. I got this item after much thinking and reading. It seems not all digital scales are the same - even if they look the same. My choice was limited as I needed something I could see read easily without wearing two pairs of glasses or having to switch a light on. This is perfect for that - the numbers show up clearly and are easy to read. It is simple to use and I hope it lasts a long time! If it becomes faulty within the next 14 years and 11 months though, hopefully Salter will replace it!One thing I was aware of is - if you like to see both grammes and ounces at the same time (as you can on a mechanical scale) then this is a different way of working. You can choose grammes or ounces but you can't see them side by side. I don't think it's an issue - but it was something I was aware of. I have some recipes with a mixture of both ounces and grammes. But with this scale it would be quick enough to switch the mode from one to the other. I am looking forward to weighing our hamster on them! He is an old hamster now and needs his weight keeping an eye on when supplementing his food. These will be easier - with a suitable shaped bowl, zeroed.

Having moved into a new flat, we decided to purchase a set of digital scales to improve the accuracy of measurements. As far as digital scales go these scales are good looking and perform as expected. The ability to measure in millilitres may appear to be a strong selling point. However, 1 gram of water is equivalent to 1 ml, so all the function does it replace the 'g' with 'ml'. Moreover, this function is limited to measuring water due to the density of other liquids.One minor issue is that the display takes a second or two to update making it hard to accurately measure quantities unless you pour ingredients very slowly. The glass surface is easy to clean, although is prone to scratching. Beyond this, the scales have worked perfectly. I have not had any issues with inconsistent measurements when measuring the same item twice, as stated in other reviews.Overall, I would recommend these scales if you are looking to upgrade or replace your existing ones.

Superb scales. A vast improvement over ones I used previously. Elegant, simple, compact, accurate. Easy to keep clean glass top, nowhere for liquids or powder to get in. Easy to switch the scales on or tare with wet or sticky hands just by tapping the front button using the handle of a knife or spoon I'm holding. Holds the tare weight for 3 minutes while the container is off the scales which is great for add-and-weigh while chopping, etc. The lit display is easy to read in poor light. Stable on self-levelling rubber feet. I use a pair of 900mAh AAA rechargeable batteries which last 6 weeks using the scales at every mealtime and in between! A spare set kept in a drawer can be swapped in an instant. The display is potentially difficult to see with a large plate on top, but I either put a bowl or small plate underneath a big plate to raise it, or just look from the side. 15 year guarantee too from a well established brand. Have been using for 4 months. Would thoroughly recommend.

I bought these scales for 2 reasons .It measures ML and it has a battery warning .Now, I compared it to my existing scales and they both read the same.I replaced my current scales because it does not have a battery warning and what happens is this, it still measures when it's running out of power but it is highly inaccurate. I wrecked a few recipes before the penny dropped.Now as for the liquid measurement with their "technology" I doubt it.Both scales measured the same for water and milk and were the same as the gram setting that is one ml equals one gram., no magic here, but it did make me think, what if I was measuring honey or a heavy liquid? It would not really know what lquid I was measuring regardless so, it's going to convert 100 ML of honey to grams which is not equal to the 100ml because honey is heavier than water or milk .In this case ,I guess you have to measure this as grams and not ml .Further, after having these scales for a while now and having some real messed up results I can say these are highly inaccurate .Some terrible outcomes and measuring these against a known weight has shown me that two results are never the same..check the photos showing grams versus ml.

Livraison arrivée très rapidement et bien emballée.Les 2 piles sont fournies avec la balance. Celle-ci est très belle, plate, fine lisse, noire avec un éclairage rouge. Un bouton à gauche pour allumer, éteindre et tarer et un bouton à droite pour permuter entre les g, lb:oz, ml et fl:oz.La balance s'éteint aussi seule, dès lors qu'il n'y a plus de produit dessus. Elle pèse au gramme près.Je l'ai choisie parmi toutes les autres, car elle est belle, ergonomique, et possède une grande surface qui permet de poser des récipients relativement grands dessus, sans que cela empêche de lire les indications sur l'écran LCD.Egalement, le fait qu'elle soit d'une seule pièce. Si de la farine ou du sucre tombe à côté du récipient , ils tombent sur la plaque ou le plan de travail et pas sur le pied du plateau, comme sur certaines balances dont le plateau est dévissable ou amovible.Je suis ravie et espère qu'elle durera longtemps.

Ich war auf der Suche nach eine Küchenwaage mit hoher Last und OHNE automatische Abschaltung.Leider hat sie doch eine automatische Abschaltung, wobei eine schlaue: ohne Last geht sie nach 1 min aus, mit Last und eingestelltem tara erst nach 3 min.Die 3 min sind vollkommen ausreichend im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Waagen, dass man brauchbar das tara einsetzen kann.Pro's:- Gut abwischbar- richtige Knöpfe- hohe Last- beleuchtete ZiffernKontra's:- leicht verzögerte Anschaltzeit (vielleicht 3-5 sekunden) nicht schlimm, aber doch merklich.- Keine Aufhängung
