Description:
DuckWeed (Oxygenating Plant) in 1 x LRG TableSpoon. More avaliable in shop at cheaper price. Collected from the lake on the morning. What you will receive: 1 x LRG TableSpoon of DuckWeed. Uses for duckweed: Duckweed can purify and concentrate nutrients from wastewater (sewage effluent). Duckweed provides food for wildlife, especially waterfowl (Wetlands)." They will need to be placed in water immediately after opening. (If any other amounts are wanted or any issues feel free to contact us and we will sort you out ASAP) . Information: (Submerged oxygenating pond plant. Grows vigorously. Ideal for providing cover for your fishes and excellent as a spawning media.)Duckweed will usually out compete algae. You rarely get green water in a tank covered with duckweed. Goldfish, too. Goldfish (and koi) also love duckweed. They inhale it like a Hoover. You will not keep duckweed in a goldfish tank. Laxative Powers. Nothing gets a goldfish “moving” like duckweed. It cleans their intestines overnight. You’ll see a few remnants that tell you they love the taste of duckweed. Other Health Benefits. Duckweed grows fast, therefore it needs lots of nutrition -- exactly the same things your fishes give off -- ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, and carbon dioxide. Oscars, and other lunkers, stay healthy when they live under a thin carpet of duckweed. We say “thin” because duckweed will grow an inch thick if you let it get out of hand. Too thick a layer makes it hard to see your fish. It darkens your tank. Water Cleaner. Duckweed thrives in manure-rich waters and in excessively warm waters. It doubles in leaf area in three to four days. Duckweed grows incredibly fast.
Indications
Tortoise, Large Breeds

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely perfect
Absolutely perfect product. Delivery was very prompt and the package was well sealed.I bought this for a pond in the garden, it’s a perfect wildlife pond with the added duckweed. Simply put the duckweed in and it takes care of its self and soon spreads. Great for stopping algae growth. It gives great cover for the pond life and the frogs love it. We have had frogs and tadpoles for a few years now. The duckweed really helps. It can die off a little with the frost but I am amazed at how quickly it grows back.
5.0 out of 5 stars Happy customer here
The original order was almost completely destroyed by royal mail, but the seller offered up a replacement which I was more than happy with.I'm thrilled to say these plants are looking good and healthy! I'm sure I'll be ordering some more before long as it's my goldfishes favourite snack 🙄
1.0 out of 5 stars A bag of maggots and dead slugs...and some duckweed
Package comes in a flat envelope. Upon opening the envelope you are hit with a weird halitosis kind of infected smell. I cut open the bag containing the duckweed holding my breathe and then squeezed the duckweed into a glass bowl full of water. Straight away the water turned cloudy. I waited a few minutes for the sediment to come to a rest and for the duckweed to settle at the top. Immediately I noticed what appeared to be about 7 or 8 dead slugs. I used a spoon to scoop them out. I thought "OK, at least they're gone, the rest can't be that bad. It was then that I noticed lots and lots of little larvae swimming about. They looked like little nymphs or maggoty fly larvae type things. There was also tiny black bugs darting about. This duckweed is not from it's own tank. My guess is that it was scrapped out of a pond, river or canal and is being sold in little bags. I literally took about 10 tiny pieces of duckweed and flushed the rest. I have placed them in a glass of water to observe over the next few days. If what I salvaged looks clear it MIGHT go in with my betta and get the chance to spread out; otherwise it's getting discarded like I did with the rest. Overall, a bag of disgustingness, which I could have just gotten myself from the local canal.
4.0 out of 5 stars gourmet fish food
Arrived quickly and exactly as described. I placed it into a bucket of water and left for a week to ensure I wasn't likely to introduce anything into my pond (just a precaution). After transferring to the pond it lasted around 3 days before the fish ate the lot. I think this would be good value for an ornamental pond but if you have fish it's the most expensive gourmet fish food on the market. I think the fish thought Gordon Ramsey was visiting. My star ratings are based upon product and service. It would be value for money if you have no fish, but if you do it's wasted money (btw, the largest of my fish are only around 4" long so it's not like I have Koi carp). The only way it might possibly work is if I'd bought several bags, then it may have had a chance to grow before the fish were full.
3.0 out of 5 stars Arrives filthy and mixed with debris
The quality of the plant itself is good . Its green and healthy.... But I bought this for an indoor tank so wasnt best pleased about having to sieve out all the sticks, debri and mud it was mixed with! The plant consisting of tiny floating bits made trying to seperate it from all the crap nigh on impossible so I lost half of it down the sink and still ended up with a load of wood and debris to clean out from the tank...

This is amazing. It arrived 3 days early and looks good
5.0 out of 5 stars Grows Well and My Ducks Love It
I bought a tablespoon of this duckweed at the beginning of March, with the intention of trying to grow it as a crop for my Runner Ducks. It arrived within a couple of days, in a plastic packet contained within an envelope. I first emptied the contents of the packet into a bucket and left it in my polytunnel for a couple of weeks, occasionally adding in some duck poo to feed it, but the weather was still extremely cold, so it did not seem to grow much, if at all.I then decided to fill a bath I had in the polytunnel with water and tip the contents of the bucket in there, to give the duckweed more surface area to grow. By this time it was the beginning of April and the weather was slightly warmer and sunnier, and I think this helped, and within two weeks the duckweed grew to cover the entire surface of the bath as show in the photos. The only attention I give it is to tip in a tiny amount of duck poo about once a week, and the duckweed continues to grow well. I take a large jug full out once a week to feed to my five ducks as a treat, and they go absolutely mad for it, eating every speck of it up that I tip into their pool, and the amount I remove from the bath has grown back by the time I go back to take some more the following week.Overall for the price I paid, it seems like a good investment.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good
Don't get it why people complaining about live things in there. That's the best thing to add to your natural tank. If others where sad about it then I was exited.
