5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I looked after someone’s dog and they didn’t tell me their dog had fleas.Needless to say, I was very p’d off when I found fleas crawling over and biting me. I read about diatomaceous earth and bought a bag. It vaccuumed the carpet first, then sprinkled powder and just let it lay for about 7 days, did the same for a month and can honestly say, it did it’s job. Only negative is that it made everything else extremely dusty but fantastic value for money and contains no harsh chemicals so safe to use if you pets in the house.I’ve already ordered another bag so I have it if ever it’s needed again.Product has so many other benefits too
5.0 out of 5 stars Good against mites but dusty 🖖
So it seems to work well against finch and caged birds mites...it killed some mites straight away...it is though dusty, even if sprinkled finely (I used a makeup brush, and put the thing very finely) .... so there is some dust in the air....Amdln, there is a good quantity in the nag which is great 👍. The bag in which was sent was though very dusty and messy, so we had to move the powder into something more friendly, to be kept in the home safely...😏Did not used directly on the bird as I was a bit scared...finches are really tiny and I was scared them to not make any irritations...🫶
4.0 out of 5 stars Flea/ dust mites gone!
4 stars only because the package burst and went everywhere in the box before I even got itOverall Very happy about this, it worked in a few hours I was dust mite / flea freee. Definitely worth it and the size is a good moneys worth.I would recommend when using to sweep with a brush first before hoovering as it will mess up the filter your hoover.
5.0 out of 5 stars Completely harmless to your pets.
This stuff is amazing. It works a treat on so many pests, and the best bit is, it's completely harmless to your pets.
3.0 out of 5 stars WARNING DO NOT BRUSH THIS INTO YOUR CATS FUR
unfortunately I have a flea infestation which I haven't been able to resolve then a friend recommended this, I've not been using it for long but there seems to be an improvement, I recommended brushing it into upholstery, rugs and carpets to make sure you have even coverage as just sprinkling it around isn't so effectiveI brushed a small amount through my cats fur on 2 occasions, I noticed after a couple of days his skin was flaking and his fur was very dry, i rubbed a small amount on my arm to see if this was the cause and sure enough I saw how dry it made my skin, on top of that when a cat cleans itself it is then getting it in its mouth, my cat just wasn't himself so I took him to the vet and he was put on a iv fluid drip as his skin was really dry and he'd become severely dehydrated, my vet said it was highly likely that brushing the earth into his fur has caused this
5.0 out of 5 stars Cheaper than others but works
Work well and is great value
5.0 out of 5 stars Much more cost effective and only marginally less convenient than a pricey 'Frontline' or 'Advantage' flea control subscription
I keep a little bit of this in an old ashtray by the sofa. The cats soon got used to me brushing in a little bit between their shoulders and towards their tail every once in a while or else whenever I see them 'twitching' and nibbling at their rumps; their usual sign of fleas. I was skeptical at first; it perhaps takes a little longer with perhaps two or three applications, it's hard to say. The only advantage I see with the chemical approach (Frontline/Advantage) is that it's a handy one shot fix. The disadvantages are that those are pretty potent insecticides to apply directly to your feline and introduce into your home; I feel I must take care not to ruffle them behind the ears once treated and worry about children getting the chemicals on their hands and in their mouths afterwards - The cats hate the wet sensation of those Spot-on solutions on their necks and so instantly struggle and/or flee. Also, at £4-£6 a month for each of my two cats that soon adds up to around £120/year;ADVANTAGES - of Diatomaceous Earth: I brush a couple of generous pinches into them with a grooming brush whenever I see one of them get twitchy and they love it - one cat loves rolling in garden dust anyway so it's never an issue for her - No worries about insecticides and I can still ruffle their necks - You can sprinkle the dust on the carpets and sleeping areas instead of using insecticide. I can't vouch for that myself but farmers use it in hen coups, grain silos and such like... messy though but it hoovers up - Cheap cheap cheap; this bag's going to last at least a year! I'm pretty sure this is why its reserved for the farming industry and not promoted in pet shops; where's the profit in it!DISADVANTAGES : Perhaps not a one shot fix; I brush in a good pinch of earth every two or three days until the fleas are gone; about a week - It can get everywhere if you're not careful; not a problem really since it hoovers up easily or else, brushed in and left where it falls for a while, continues to act on any residual larvae (carpet moths and bedbugs too!).
1.0 out of 5 stars No leaflet tattered and zip tied
Looked old and used bag had old tattered label not a sealed bag tied up with a zip tie! Very unsure to even use this on food now as look tampered with. No leaflet? Where is the leaflet?
