'Rock'n'Roll' hit the music-scene in the mid-50's with the release of the film 'Rock Around The Clock' which triggered an explosionof 'Rock' Stars, at first of course from the U.S with acts such as 'Bill Hayley' 'Elvis' 'Little Richard' and 'Chuck Berry' to name justa few.........Here in the U.K the music industry of course had to try and cash-in on the new-wave that was inspiring a whole newaudience and record-buying public...The likes of 'Tommy Steele' and 'Cliff' were hailed as competition to the likes of America's'Rock- acts' such as 'The King' ....though of course, though 'Cliff's' - 'Move It' was indeed a great early 'Rock' number he was in truthso much better at 'Ballads' and 'Love' songs.'Tommy Steele' i remember on an early school-holiday on the Isle-of-Wight going on a pier and plowing money into a Juke-Box toplay 'Rock With The Cave Man' though as history shows 'Tommy' was best remembered as a Show-Man along with numbers suchas 'Little White Bull' and 'Flash Bang Wollop'In my view, the U.K took a while to catch-up with the U.S Rock-Scene, though we did have one or two that could get into Rock'n'Rollas this 3-CD Compilation clearly demonstrates,Glancing through the track-listings there are many names and songs that those that were listening to music back then will surely remember,however even those will see one or two they don't, however, when playing the CD's i'm sure like myself many will register with our memorybanks.I'll highlight a few from each of the three discs to perhaps be of help to those considering the purchase......on disc one......'Terry Dene' --'A White Sports Coat'...... '[Don Lang and his Frantic Five' --'6.5 Special' (many will remember that one fronting the early BBC Show of thesame name)......'Adam Faith' --'What Do You Want'......'The Vipers' --'No Other Baby'......and......'Vince Eager and the Vagabonds' --'SodaPop Pop'......a small example of the tracks to be found on disc one......and on disc two......'The Shadows' --'Apache'......'Lord Rockingham'sX1' --'Hoots Mon'......'Marty Wilde and the Wildcats' --'Endless Sleep' (probably my favourite 'Marty Wilde' number)......'Billy Fury' --'MaybeTomorrow'......and......'Wee Willie Harris' --'I Go Ape'......again just a sample of what can be found among the memories upon disc two......upon disc three......'Johnny Kidd and the Pirates' --'Shaking All Over'......'The John Barry Seven' --'Walk Don't Run'......'The Scorpions' --'Ridersin the Sky'......'Joe Brown and the Bruvers' --'The Darktown Strutters Ball'......and......'The Tornadoes' --'Telstar'........just a few of the tracksfound on disc three's play-list............I have simply pin-pointed around five tracks from each of the three discs.Many will notice one or two B-Sides included on-board along with U.K Cover-versions of U.S hits, many of our late 50's and early 60's starswere well known for recording these and often out-selling the originals.Overall releases or re-releases of this kind is all about the memories Rock ad Pop fans have of those times, reliving it in song a great wayto wile-away a few moments in time. (5-STARS FOR THE MEMORIES THIS RELEASE BRINGS)The current great-value price of just £3.99 on this site surely makes the purchase of these memories an attractive proposition.......

This is great music I have found songs that I had forgotten all about and a few I did not know. The quality is good. It was quick service only took a couple of days to reach me, so I am happy with it all. I purchased another 3-CD set at the same time, and of course there were a few double ups but I did not mind that, because mostly they were different. I am lucky in that I have a car built in 6 Cd Changer, and so far I have not had to change a CD as the music is great. Very happy, will purchase from them again.

brilliant 3 cd collection of 6os rnr , all original recordings which make it such a bargain ,great collection ,is it me or are these box sets have a jinx on how they are made or where ? a couple of the cd's were labelled as on the box but on playing they were wrongly pressed ,I know that being cheap is no excuse but please do make it properly , would like to know if other buyers have had this problem ,I also had it on another box set I ordered which I had to send back , shame because the cd's were good , quality control please !!

クリフ リチャードやシャドウズなどの大御所はもちろんのこと、ストレイ キャッツがカバーしたジョニーキッド&パイレーツの「プリーズ ドント タッチ」や、クラッシュがカバーしたヴィンス テイラーの「新型キャデラック」などが収録されています。アメリカのロカビリーの様なカントリー臭さはありませんが、そこが逆に洗練された感じに聞こえます。このシリーズは全体的に安価で音質も平均点以上ですが、このアルバムは音圧も高めです。3枚目のラストは他のアルバムではあまりお目にかかる事が出来ないインストロックの名曲「テルスター」で幕を閉じるのも評価ポイント。
