Nor had I really considered myself to be a country music fan (although I always loved Glen Campbell). I suppose you might describe Sam Hunt's music as a pop/country hybrid - a bit like Taylor Swift, for example. He is somewhere between the two genres which means he will appeal to two different markets. He has a great voice, both singing and talking - warm, rich and mellow. He has a lovely accent, and I assume he is from somewhere in the Southern States of America. He seems to like to combine talking with singing and does this on a few of the songs on this album. Steve Wright on Radio 2 described his music as "Country Rap" but thankfully it is definitely not rap! My favourite track is still "Take your Time" and I also love "Break up in a small town" but really there is not a bad track on the album. Sam Hunt is someone to look out for. With "Take your Time" he has now broken into the UK music scene and he deserves to become better known.

I saw Sam Hunt at the O2 Arena during Country2Country2015 and really liked the songs him and his band performed. Montevallo wasn't available to purchase at the O2 in March, but luckily it was possible to buy it on Bolo. I love every song on Sam Hunt's debut album and I listen to it every day. He should have won this year's ACM's Best New Artist. I hope we will see more of him in the UK in the near future.

What a great album!!! i saw him duet with Carrie Underwood and really liked his voice so bought the album i am so glad i did this completely changes what a country album can be!Spoken rap parts,fun little tracks but what i enjoyed about this album the most are the deep and personal lyrics :)Love the tracks: Ex To See,House Party,Make You Miss Me,Take Your Time and Raised On It!!

I have been a huge collector of music for the past 40 years and I must say this cd is right up there in my top 10 of all time.His lyrics are country with the sound of r & b.This guy is working hard to get the success he truly deserves and will soon be a house hold name every where.If you are looking for a breath of fresh air in music buy this,you will not regret it.

Sam hunt is a brill singer and his cd is very good. However i dont think it was very country but i know alot of the new america country music is sounding like this so i need to change with the times. But still a very good cd

Bought this after seeing Sam at the Country 2 Country music festival in London. The songs were great live and are still just as good on CD. It's definitely a modern take on country music but he's a talented songwriter and it's nice to see someone with their own style coming through. The variety on the album is fantastic, from the romantic tones of Take Your Time, Make You Miss Me and Cop Car to the banging beats of House Party, Ex to See and Single for the Summer. Might take me a while to get my head round some of the tongue twister lyrics and I do feel a bit silly mouthing along to the talking bits in my car but I'm going to keep doing it just the same.
