I bought this to dehumidify my bedroom, which feels far warmer than it is due to humidity, leading to uncomfortable nights' sleep and that feeling that you can't get properly dry after a shower, for example.I plugged it in in the late afternoon, and it certainly made a difference. Although, I would say (like other reviewers) that it takes some time to actually start doing its job. This is because of the way Peltier effect works, and means it should be left on to work effectively. There's a pretty large heatsink of what looks like machined aluminium inside the machine, finned to provide surface area, and the Peltier device needs to bring the temperature of this heatsink down to well below ambient temperature for moisture to start condensing on it. After about 6 hours it started condensation, and the first few drops dribbled down into the reservoir. Over the next 6 hours, it produced a good amount of water, and the air in the room feels appreciably drier and more comfortable. I expect it would have no trouble extracting the claimed 500ml/day, depending on conditions (it can't get water out of the air if the air's already pretty dry!). Ambient temperature is also a factor.So, it does what it says, in a pretty small form factor.The only issue I have is that it is described as 'ultra-quiet' and 'whisper quiet'. If you want something unnoticeable, then this isn't for you. However, I often have a fan and/or air filter going anyway, so don't need total quiet to sleep. It's about the volume of a blow heater, or a desk fan on medium - there's a gentle whooshing, with little mechanical noise from the internal fan. Having had a brief look as much as I can, it seems to be the type of fan you can buy for computer cases, and I'm sure that it wouldn't be difficult to replace the (doubtlessly cheap) fan with one expressly built to be very quiet.All in all, a good buy, but if using in a bedroom be aware that it does make more noise than you might hope. Nothing too disturbing, though.

Due to the positive reviews on Bolo regarding this Pro Breeze 500ml dehumidifier, I decided to buy two of these, as I have a fairly large bedroom and wasn't sure what the effective range was. My bedroom is 15ft square by 12ft high - I live in a Grade 2 building which was built in 1889, hence the high ceiling and looking at my windows, you'd think it was raining inside, due to the heavy condensation.Received these this afternoon, and set them up at 4pm and six hours later, already both Pro Breeze's have filtered the air and has got a few millimetres of water in them already, Compared to the cheap non-electric ones I bought from a large grocery store that takes two weeks what this Pro Breeze has done in six hours.I have placed one of these dehumidifiers on either side of the room, so when I lie in bed later, I'll hear the very slight humming noise in stereo lol. In all seriousness, they are extremely quiet, that even with two running at the same time, won't impair your ability to fall asleep.I am very impressed with these, that I am considering buying a third but for my combined bathroom/toilet but I am a little apprehensive, due to the fact it may filter the water in my toilet, instead of out of the air. (I'll try one of the bedroom ones first in the bathroom/toilet to see what happens)I certainly would recommend this Pro Breeze 500ml dehumidifier - Small, effective and a great price :-)Update: November 1st, 2017.As stated above, the two I bought, I have in my bedroom and from reading specs from similar dehumidifiers of this size, these have an effective area of between 10-20sqm and as my bedroom is 15x15ft, that is just under 25sqm and hence why they are on both sides of my bedroom, for efficiency and not to overwork and overheat them.These dehumidifiers are very effective and for the first time, I can open my blinds and could see out of my windows and not the usual, heavy condensation on my windows.So, I've just ordered a third for use in my bathroom on a same-day delivery with Prime.

Techno simple et fiable (module Peltier) fonctionnement assez silencieux...Le seul Hic est que j'aurai souhaité une prise secteur de "chez nous" et pas une britanique !
