Review:
5.0 out of 5 stars So beautifully done, only the packaging is a shame
These new Poirots are so well and beautifully done (5+ stars!!!). Yes, they are darker and more emotional (sader) than the short stories, mostly due to the soundtrack and the much deeper story. Murder, greed, jealousy or rage are sad things anyway. Poirot himself says in "After the Funeral" that he is interested in psychology: why and how do people things. But this enriches the whole series.David Suchet still dominates every scene he is in, and the supporting cast is simply perfect as well (and as always). No miscasted actor, no bad or exaggerated acting. The video quality is very good, the aspect ratio is 16:9 (the first 8 seasons or so were 4:3). The sound Dolby Surround (not 5.1).There is a "Behind the Scenes" feature on every of the four disks. But this is done not very well (3 stars): Granada obviously made ONE feature of one hour length and cut it into FOUR pieces. So in the "making of" on "After the Funeral" we get also information (spoilers!) about "Cards on the Table", the same with the other ones. Still, there ARE some features and we get to know from David Suchet how he approaches the Poirot figure.Packaging is a REAL SHAME (1 star): No information about the films (length, aspect ratio, sound, date of broadcast), no summary of the stories. To save space in your DVD shelf they let two of the discs overlap each other so you have to take out disc 2 to get disc 1. But after all it's the wonderful content that counts and not the inferior packaging box!
5.0 out of 5 stars Poirot Aficionados will love this collection...
Poirot: Feature Length Collection (Digitally Re-mastered DVD)Absolutely superb. A digitally remastered DVD collection of feature length films, starring the wonderful David Suchet as the inimitable M. Poirot, which contains :- Murder on the Orient Express; Death on the Nile; The ABC Murders. The first two are my favourite films so delighted to have them in this particular collection and the third is not to be discounted either, it's also a great film. In addition to the three films there are also DVD extras - over an hour of additions which include:- interviews with David Suchet - covering the making of Murder on the Orient Express/history and behind the scenes; also cast and crew interviews from Death on the Nile. These extras, in my opinion, are not to be missed - if you are a Poirot aficionado you will love this. There are three picture DVDs , nicely presented in a smart case, and 349 minutes of viewing time. Picture film quality is excellent. All in all an excellent purchase and really good value too. Well presented, well packaged with excellent Bolo delivery. Highly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars A joy to watch
I absolutely wanted to own the episode entitled 'taken by the flood' in which Elliot Cowan manages the feat of playing the most attractive ,charismatic and frightening villain that ever existed. How his character can fascinate and repulse at the same time is incredible!Cowan does it with a nonchalance and an aplomb that is not to be found in an average actor. The other episodes, although not as good, are very entertaining nonetheless and shot with such lavish spendour that they are a joy to watch. Added to this is the masterful performance of David Suchet who wears Poirot like a second skin.Settings, costumes, performances, everything is first class, the only very slight problem being Suchet's English accent which can sometimes be heard when he speaks French.
4.0 out of 5 stars DVD
Wonderful. Very good acting. Riveting stories.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best Poirot
Each of these 3 extended Poirot programmes are brilliant. Better than any Poirot adaption which came before or afterwards, in my opinion.
5.0 out of 5 stars good quality
good item on time well received
5.0 out of 5 stars The best since Hastings left
Fantastic. I was disappointed by the films in Collection 5, but this is almost a return to form (though it is not the same without Hastings, Japp and Lemon). The Blue Train is the best Poirot since Evil Under the Sun.The quality of the DVD image is better than it has been before and there are some mildly diverting bonus materials. I always enjoy watching Suchet talking about the role.BUT, as with all of these boxed sets, there's the utterly irritating unskippable anti-piracy message at the beginning. I might not steal a handbag, but I didn't steal this either, I don't understand why those of us who clearly bought the dvds have to be lectured at. What, you think there's a roaring trade in buying Poirot dvds then pirating them, even though you already own them? Bonkers!
5.0 out of 5 stars Familiar story well told. David Suchet is Poirot.
Interesting run up to the train journey. The ending personal tussel superbly acted..won't spoil it for viewers
Phantastisch, Grandios, Herrlich
Agatha Christie's Poirot - Collection 6 [UK IMPORT]

The CDs are good, cover for the Samsung A3 is very good and the cover for the IPhone 4 is very bad because it's not even fit to my iPhone...bad copy ((Regards,
Verfilmung 5 Sterne, Synchronisation 2 Sterne
