This is refined coconut oil, from organic sources and cold pressed. It does not have a coconut scent but otherwise has the same beneficial properties as virgin coconut oil. As I don't particularly want to smell as though I've applied sunscreen I'm absolutely fine with this.I bought it primarily for use as a natural moisturiser/body oil and have found it excellent. It is solid in the tub, at room temperature, but melts to oil on the hand. A little goes a very long way and it rubs in well without leaving a greasy feel. I have even started to use it as an underarm deodorant with success! My next experiment with it will be to try tooth swishing (a.k.a. oil pulling).The tub provided is large and the 1kg oil does not fill it but I did check the weight and was satisfied I had the proper amount. I did have difficulties wrestling the lid off first time although it's fine now. Decanting into smaller storage containers after purchase might be a good idea.I will definitely be ordering this again as I would like a second tub for kitchen use and the product features state that it is "suitable for use in cooking". Again, I'm happy that this is refined oil without a distinct odour as some of my family members do not like coconut and it will make introducing it in cooking simpler.This product is by far the best value refined coconut oil being sold on Bolo at present even if you don't buy enough from this supplier to qualify for free delivery.[If you would prefer an oil that smells and tastes of coconut then the 1 Kg Organic Virgin Coconut Solid Oil - 100% Pure Carrier Oil by the same supplier also seems good value currently, although nearly twice the price of refined]

I can't even begin to tell you how much I like this product. I must confess when the postman delivered this last week, i clapped my hands with delight, so excited was i to get my hands on some refined Coconut oil at last. I have been using virgin Coconut oil for a few years now, both as a moisturiser and for cooking but was often dissatisfied with the results (in cooking). It tastes fabulous in coconut baked goods and anything with a tropical flair (goes well with pineapples and mangoes and I also like to use it for stir fries) but in all other baked goods, it tasted funky. You cannot buy the refined oil in any of the shops where I live, only the virgin oil so when I saw this big tub on Bolo, I just knew I had to have it. It only arrived end of last week and I've already used half of the tub. It's great stuff, no odour or taste at all, will totally fool coconut haters like my husband. I will continue to use the virgin oil as a moisturiser because I like the smell but the refined oil is brilliant for baking and this is very reasonably priced, I paid £9 altogether, that's including delivery and it is a large tub. Probably my only gripe is the container is too big for the oil inside, it's only 3/4 full, so it's a big waste of packaging.I would definitely buy this again.

As a massage therapist, I have found this Refined Coconut oil to be a superb skin moisturiser with excellent slip properties when used in massage treatments.Because this is a Refined oil, it is odourless and has no smell of it's own, making it the ideal choice for adding essential oils to fragrance it with.I shall definitely be purchasing this product regularly from this seller as it is such good quality and value for money.I would also like to recommend their Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, as this does have the wonderful Coconut aroma which clients enjoy when having an Hawaiian massage treatment. It is a little more costly than the Refined oil, but this is because it is more expensive to produce as it retains more of its own natural properties and benefits such as it fragrance and vitamin content etc.

When my product first arrived it was firm and lovely. Although It didn't smell anything close to coconuts, but it had a great oil texture that you immediatly associate coconut oil to. A few days later though I noticed It started changing it's state from a solid to a liqiuid, untill one day it was completely water, and I mean water. So now I have to put it in a cool/cold place so it can hopefully firm up again. Other than this it was a great product :)

Bought this to see if it would help with my daughter's hair as it is very curly and flyaway. The product its self has been a godsend as once the 'solid' has been warmed between my hands, it melts nicely into its oily state and is easy to transfer through hair. I use it through my own hair too ( I colour it) and it gives body as a pre shampoo treat on both mine and my daughters hair. It arrived by post at its estimate too, so no problems there either.The reason no 5 stars and as another reviewer has pointed out, is the fact that the tub the coconut 'solid' comes in is so difficult to open, you will struggle with it and if you have trouble with your dexterity, you will find it impossible to open.I have just transferred my coconut solid to a cleaned out 1kg margarine tub and it fits perfectly. Another tip is to use a clean teaspoon and scrape a 'desired' amount onto it, especially if you are using it in your hair or skin.
