Now That's What I Call Music! 82

Description:

The 82nd edition of the Now That's What I Call Music series has been put together and from the look of the track listing it will not disappoint. Some of the biggest tunes of 2012--including "We Are Young" by Fun feat. Janelle Monáe, "Starships" by Nicki Minaj and Carly Rae Jepsen's infectious pop anthem "Call Me Maybe"--are included in the album. The compilation also features staples such as Rihanna, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, will.iam and Coldplay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Fantastic CD from the Now Series

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Just like its proceedor Now 81 (which i really enjoyed) Now 82 is just another fantastic album cram packed full of the latest hits. All 44 tracks are spot on and couldn't of been selected better. As always, there are always the odd few songs that just don't make the final tracklisting. To name a few :-DJ Fresh feat. Dizzee Rascal - The Power - Was so surprised this song isn't on here and i'd say its the only really really obvious one that is missing. However his previous single 'Hot Right Now' is included instead when it really should have been on Now 81 as i was very surprised it wasn't on there (As previously stated in my Now 81 review). However it is a fantastic summer anthem and fits on here well. They did the same last year on Now 79 when they put Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way' on there when it really should have been on Now 78 instead as it was very old by the time Now 79 was released.Nelly Furtado - Big Hoops (The Bigger the Better)Jay-Z & Kanye West - ParisFar East Movement feat. Justin Bieber - Live My Life - Quite surprised to see this song miss out although Justin Bieber is already featured on this album and one song from him is too much as it is, so i'm not too fussed this song missed out.Chris Brown - Don't Wake Me Up - May feature on Now 83 instead as his previous single 'Turn Up the Music' is on here.Katy Perry - Wide Awake - The same case here, 'Part of Me' her previous single is featured on this album, will probably appear on Now 83.Florence + the Machine - Spectrum (current No.1) Pretty much all of Florence + the Machine's biggest hits have appeared on Now CD's, and i would be very surprised if this song didn't make Now 83.Lady Antebellum - Need You Now - This is a really nice song and its a shame this song isn't on here either. It might make Now 83 though, fingers crossed. As always these CD's have some brilliant catchy songs that i love, to name a few:-Fun feat. Janelle Monae - We Are YoungMaroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa - PayphoneFlo Rida - WhistleColdplay & Rihanna - Princess of ChinaRudimental feat. John Newman - Feel the LoveNicki Minaj - StarshipsStooshe - Black HeartKaty Perry - Part of MeTrain - Drive ByJason Mraz - I Won't Give UpDJ Fresh feat. Rita Ora - Hot Right NowCalvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo - Lets GoJessie J feat. David Guetta - LaserLightThe Wanted - Chasing the SunLoreen - EuphoriaSwedish House Mafia - GreyhoundB.o.B - So GoodTaio Cruz - There She GoesScissor Sisters - Only the HorsesLawson - When She Was MineGary Barlow & the Commonwealth Band - Singand the not so memorable ones:-Justin Bieber - BoyfriendDavid Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj - Turn Me OnAzealia Banks - feat. Lazy Jay - 212 (Worst song on the album)Plan B - ILL ManorsSway - Level UpBut the fact that there are way more good songs then bad ones just shows how brilliant this CD is. As usual Disc 1 has all the more well known songs on it than Disc 2 but i was still very impressed with Disc 2 this time round as it is always the weaker Disc. I was quite surprised to see The Wanted and The Saturdays on it as they have appeared on Disc 1 on all the previous editions. Funnily enough as well i'm not a big fan of The Wanted but Chasing the Sun is actually a really catchy song, their best yeat imo. This album also has the same amount of tracks (44) as last year's summer album Now 79 and 2 more tracks than Now 81. There's not much more i can say really apart from so far in terms of Now CD's this year has been fantastic better than last year with Now 79 being the only really good Now album last year. Now 78 and 80 were good, but Now 79 blasted both of them out of the water. Now 81 was impressive, this ones also impressive and if Now 83 is good as well, i think 2012 will be a fantastic year for Now albums. For now though if you are into all tastes of music and want all the latest and greatest hits around at the moment, buy this CD, it is available for a bargain price of £9.99 (which is less than i paid for it unfortunatly) best get in there quick though, it is only a matter of time before the price goes back up again!

5.0 out of 5 stars You get what you see

J.G. · 2 October 2016

I only recently started putting reviews on products, (been an Bolo customer since 2002), and I've realised that with things like CD compilations, if you don't already know what you're getting, it was a bit dumb to buy it in the first place. With the 'Now' CDs this is especially true, so all my reviews for these will be 5*, because I know the songs before I purchase, love some of them, like others & can't stand some. These are brilliant albums if you want to keep up to date with the latest pop tracks and are always easy to listen to, with the swear words cut on the more edgy ones so kids can listen as well.So if you read the track listings and like them, then buy it, if you don't then don't. Simple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best choice from the summer of 2012

I got this CD along with others and initially I held back as this costs me the most about $7!The songs flow sonically so well and resonate with me well when me and a friend based in London were sparring with each other but hearing the first few tracks though not particularly musically inclined he changed tack to ask what exactly I was listening to and grew really attentive! The tracks are well placed and sound clear and fresh even on my HiFi which is over 9 years old like I brought it yesterday and trust me acoustically this is well placed-BUY IT YOU'LL NOT REGRET IT!

Varied music, some good and some not so good. Probably better value than buying all the ones I like as singles. It's really down to music taste how one will enjoy this album.
