Cooks & Co Dried Mixed Forest Mushrooms are fantastic! The mushrooms have a rich aroma and great quality – once soaked, they look just like fresh ones. I made a soup with them, and it turned out absolutely delicious, full of deep, forest flavor. I’ll definitely buy them again – perfect for soups, sauces, and risotto! 🍄👏

These ‘Forest mushrooms’ are definitely impressive value for money…but be warned: they are NOT like the mushrooms most of us are used- to! So far I’ve tried adding them to spag bols, fry-ups and stews but the result is always the same i.e. tough, chewy, and don’t taste like mushrooms as most of us know them. I now only use them in an emergency. They are also very rich, so unless you use them sparingly can soon make you feel ‘ icky’. Suggest that you also chop them much smaller once hydrated to make them more palatable.

These are a wonderful staple to add depth to stews, soups and other dishes.Especially if you are vegan, vegetarian or have dietary restrictions. Dried mushrooms add a depth of flavour that can be hard to come by.They last for ages and have a nice range of different mushrooms.They have been pretty much always in the house for about 5 years. We never let them run out.

I really wanted to like these based upon so many good reviews but the product is substandard. Some of the mushrooms were soft and damp, some had a faint petroleum-like taste, some had mold on them (not natural mushroom spores or mycelia). And you can tell that they are wild mushrooms and come from the forest because there is still plenty of forest left attached to many of them. With such a lack of attention to detail, can you be certain that there are no toxic mushrooms include?
