Just fitted 3 of these. Would definately recommend brand/ product. These do not have an integral anti draught flap but I would recommend buying a separate plastic anti draught flap which tightly clips into the outlet of this and works very well to keep you room free of draught. Only a few issues with fitting fans in general. Wire entry hole is near one corner then wire has to travel full width of fan to connector.. roughly 8 inches wire should be plenty. Drilling an extra hole would be possible if needed if wire has no free slack but would void warranty obviously. Another issue you may have is ensuring sufficient clearance above ceiling when fitting to ceiling. I had to cut down too much spare flexible pipe in one case to ensure pipe had a natural bend above the fan. In another case I decided to fit a 3 way shower isolator pull switch and 3 way lighting wire accordingly to disable the fan in a downstairs shower/ toilet which already had a window. I did not see the point in the fan extracting warm air out unless shower was being used. The product is easy to fit.. easy to wire..obviously 3 wires fue to needing a permanent live and switched live. Timer is easy to set up via a circuit board potentiometer (default set to minimum time), but recommend very thin flat jewellers screwdriver and not the supplied plastic screwdriver to adjust. Minimum time I set to timed at approx 75 seconds.. My thinking is if you need the fan on longer then just leave the light on. I have LED lighting so very low power and can see if water vapour has cleared before turning off light. Also if no shower usage, fan is on minimum time so not taking hot air out of bathroom or toilet any longer than a minute or so in winter + longer life for fan as on for less time. Heat lost cost more than running an LED lightbulb! Very quiet fan, No vibration when ceiling fitted, high volume flow rate. red led is visible through casing shows when fan running if on timer and lights off. Easy clip on and off cover. Timer circuit well made circuit and is protected with clear plastic cover and sealed from moisture. Good product.. recommend these.. just check wiring length and above fan clearance on existing fan before buying. Also note No Earth Connection on this fan.. but beware if you turn off MCB breaker before starting work.. still check to ensure wiring is not live and always prevent Neutral from touching Earth wire.. Neutral touching Earth wire can still trip your RCD earth trip even though MCB is off...and you may not realise this until some time after the job.. freezer defrosting etc!!

I have an ensuite bathroom with no window. Which is therefore prone to condensation and of course smells tend to linger....! The extractor in situ wasn't really pulling its weight, so I spent some time researching the options. This one appeared to offer a good balance between performance and cost, and to be fair it does. It's definitely shifting more air and moisture - I can feel a stronger flow at the duct exit point outside, and the walls and mirror both clear more quickly than in the past. And I'm pretty sure that smells are shifting more quickly too. I think it's a good buy, but it's no quieter than the old one. To be fair it's not at all noisy - but it's not silent. It was also very simple to fit, removal and replacement took about 15 minutes. I definitely recommend it.

Good fan fairly quiet and removes steam efficiently .Same mounting holes as previous Vent Axia fan so straightforward fitting.

Bought this after looking at many different makes and models. It is advertised as being low noise which it is. Not silent. I doubt whether any mechanical fan is ever totally silent but it’s a lot quieter that the one it replaced. The unit feels like it is made of good quality materials and all the internal components are well protected from moisture etc. It has four fixing holes which do not allow any flexibility on position if trying to replace an existing unit. Luckily the installer of my previous unit had only used two of the available holes so I was able to align satisfactorily with the help of some metal self drill plasterboard fixings which are my preferred choice for lightweight items and are very secure. The timer adjustment is a bit fiddly and it’s a bit of quesswork and trial and error to get the timer to run on the correct amount but you do get a little adjustment tool included. Don’t fix the outside cover until you are happy with the ‘run on’ time. Pleased with the overall performance and the unit looks very neat in the ceiling.

As another helpful review comments, this is a quiet fan and seems to have a good suck to it. It has a quality feel. Being fair, the caveats for replacing an old unit probably apply to any new fan. The main thing I found was the rear outlet of the fan was decidedly longer than my old unit, so when fully inserted into the ducting, it stood a good couple of cm proud of the ceiling! Fortunately, this was exactly the depth of the old fan housing, which I cannibalised to act as a mounting adaptor kit! With some longer screws than those supplied, I made it work. But your life will likely be much easier if you check all appropriate dimensions and not just the diameter and shape of the ducting. The previous reviewer's comment about the length of the electrical tails applies. Again, this could apply to any unit, but it is true that the cable ingress hole is the other side of the unit from the terminals, so your cable will need to reach across the width of the unit. Mine didn't so I had to solve this with an additional terminal block and tails.As for the rest of the unit, I like the subtle red LED that is on when the fan is running. It is quieter than my old one. I'm not sure how effective the backdraught shutter is. It is a very flimsy bit of plastic! But it is something...
