5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant product

We were given something to help with that which helps for a while. On that visit to the vet they said the next step would be blood tests, urine samples and maybe a scan. I knew his bladder wasn’t blocked because he was passing urine. This time I tried this product. After 4 days the problem has cleared up. It’s easy to administer. Just break open the capsules and mix with food. The price is good.I will be keeping him on these

5.0 out of 5 stars It works and seems to taste good!

I have been using this with my cat for a couple of months now, and felt that I should give a review as it seems to be pretty impressive stuff. The best thing about it, is that it mixes well into the cat’s food, and seems to taste good, as my fussy cat does eat it.My boy cat died suddenly 3 months ago, and his sister, who used to be irritated by him mostly, struggled with him suddenly being gone. She started going to the litter tray lots, and either not weeing or just a little. I took her to the vet’s and he gave her something similar, and recommended that I bought this when that was finished.I open the capsule and mix the contents into her food, once a day. She eats her food well and has no more bathroom problems. She seems relaxed and happy. It is such a weight off my mind, as there is less worry about losing her too now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to Work...

    M.P.H. · 21 October 2013

My 13yr old female spayed cat has, for the past 12 months, been having problems with spraying and peeing around the house. She has always been a bit of a sensitive flower but despite being given all the attention, care, food and shelter she has always had and wanted, she seemed to go through a phase of being especially upset, and the weeing seemed to be stress-induced, possibly triggered by a bout of cystitis.I took her to the vet who looked for problems including tumours but she was found to be in top condition. The only explanation I could see was perhaps a food issue(allergy, sensitivity), stress(too many foxes or other cats in her neighbourhood all of a sudden or some kind of mental issue (old age, dementia or something).I've tried other products designed to relieve stress in cats, including some incredibly expensive vet prescribed food(£28 for 2KG!!!!) and none of these things have worked.Of course until I try a long process of elimination I won't know for sure that these pills are solely responsible. But she has been on one a day sprinkled into her Felix(we keep her on one brand now with a little added water to make a gravy to ward off cystitis problems from dehydration) for a month now and she has shown a drastic improvement. We also keep her in, now she stays in for most of the day and has a 3-4hr session out in the garden, rather than the 10-12hrs she used to have. Before she would seem distressed and unhappy, yeowling to go out every five minutes. When outside she wouldn't use her dirt box but she would go to every available bare patch of soil and squat there, or she would walk around and scratch a circuit of bare patches into the grass. In the house she would wee on everything if she was in a particularly agitated mood, on shopping bags, chairs, door frames, sofa cushions. We couldn't trust her anywhere, and she used to be perfectly consistent, she would ask if she needed to go out and use the dirt box I have set up in a flowerbed for her.For nearly a month now she has shown a steady improvement and although we now keep a litter box indoors for her she is trustworthy in all areas. I tried Cystaid and Cystaid Plus but neither seemed to have the same effect. They do have slightly different ingredients as far as I could tell from the labels. So, all I can say is that since starting my cat on Cystophan capsules she has shown a marked improvement. But I cannot guarantee it is from the pills alone. However if you and your cat are suffering the same problems as we were then it might be worth a try. Just be aware that my cat doesn't actually have cystitis, but some kind of irritation that presents like cystitis without some of the symptoms. If your cat DOES have the usual cystitis symptoms you should seek veterinary advice.Hope this helps.PJ

5.0 out of 5 stars Helped our stressed and ageing Tomcat to calm down and urinate normally again

    A.C. · 28 September 2024

our 11year old tomcat started to show several stress symptoms by over-licking, urinating around the house and developed an inflamed bladder due to anxiousness in going out to pee, a result from the increase in numbers of other younger tomcats in the neighbourhood. The vet recommended us Cystophan which we have now been giving him daily for ca 8 months and he has improved a great deal since we started the treatment. We also installed an indoor litter tray, because he gets bullied by neighbouring cats and gets too anxious to go out. His over-licking has stopped completely, he does not urinate anywhere other than his litter try or outside and all his fluffy belly hair has grown back, he is generally a much more relaxed and happy cat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant meaty smell!

    c. · 18 September 2024

Brought these as the cat was having urinary issues. They helped support his tiny bladder on a road to recovery. They mix well in food and have a meaty smell to them that is appealing to the cat when it's added to his food. Would highly reccommend this product for your feline. LArger quantities also help with costs as the 30 capsule alternative is not cost effective

No taste, open up and pour into food

I use this for my cat and it works great to keep the cystitis from coming back!

    A.C. · 19 July 2019

It took a long time to arrive but it works great!

    Give it a try

    c. · 22 October 2024

I have a male cat that has had many many bouts of FLUTD. It started with noticing blood in the urine and progressed to multiple attempts to urinate without success. I took him to Vet with first episode and had a catheter placed but was never really given answer what was going on. It was not an experience I wanted my cat to go through again….I agonized whether to take him back to Vet with recurring episode. Each episode had a predictable pattern, always eventually resolved but they seemed to return every month or so. I hated to see him strain to urinate 100 times a day:(. I would try different supplements , methionine seemed to help turn each episode around quicker. I also did the other typical recommendations ….changed the diet to wet food, got water fountains etc., did the calming diffusers. Then I read somewhere about Cystophan, I researched it and decided to give it a try. Knock on wood, he’s hasn’t had an episode for more than a year. I take the capsule and pour contents onto palm of my hand, then I top it with his favorite Churu treat & he gobbles it up. If this had any bitter or unpleasant taste I promise he would detect it and refuse it.I just have him lick it out of my hand to make sure he gets it all….but sprinkling on food is also an option. My story of success of course is just testimonial but if you’re debating and at your wits end I would give it a try.
