In terms of value for money you are getting A LOT of wash here compared to a standard nuln oil pot.The screw top pot is very easy to apply directly from but would make it difficult to pour if you wanted to decant into a smaller container. The wash also states to shake thoroughly before use however this leaves a thick foamy layer on the top which may cause issues if you want to use the dip method.I like the finish this provides, its more of a silk/sheen finish than a gloss and flows well into lines without watering down. Durability is good but would still need a sealer to fully protect your paint job.The benefit of the big tub is you can dip standard size models into the pot for a quick wash. The foam mentioned earlier makes this a bit fiddly and will obviously mean you dont have much control over where its applied so would leave the finish clumped up in some places but if you wanted a grimy finish (for something like zombicide) this would be a quick way to give shading to your models. Ive tried the army painter tins that you can do this with but they provided a very glossy sheen (as i think they had a protective finish) but prefer this vallejo wash.

On the lookout for a paint on - wipe off weathering product for military models. Read a couple of quick reviews and thought I would give this a try. Product is water soluble acrylic and can be used in a variety of ways. Have only used it once so far, but very pleased with the results. Recommended to fellow modelers.

Usual quality from vallejo, however the jar had leaked. Decanted it and still able to use. The packaging should be better and the jar sealed tight. However that said, it doesn't detract from the product

I find that this wash leaves a slightly chalky residue so requires watering down. Also you have to shake to mix it well which leaves a lot of foam aroiund the top when opened which takes a long time to settle.

Currently using a lot of Agrax shade in my painting, this presents me with the closet approximation to it in bulk, no complaints
Effective product at a reasonable price.

Worth it
Totally worth it. Darker than Nuln oil, so I made a wash mixing this and some water in another container to thin it out, works great!!
Make sure you IMMEDIATELY remove excess....
Of course you're dipping. You probably wouldn't order this size if you weren't. Make sure you brush or dab off excess soon as you can... will dry solid dark brown. And kinda foamy / bubbly after you "shake well" but has no affect once dried. Great Vallejo product... just don't be surprised by the bubbles and make sure you remove excess. Instructions / directions say as much.
