Ensure affected area is clean and dry, apply Kelo-Cote to the area as a very thin layer and allow to dry, apply twice daily. For Maximum effect, Kelo-Cote Gel should have 24 hour contact with the skin. Once dry Kelo-Cote can be covered with pressure garments, sun block or cosmetics. Kelo-cote is a patented topical silicone gel for the management and prevention of abnormal scars in the form of hypertrophic scars and keloids. Kelo-cote gel self-dries within 4-5 minutes to a waterproof gas permeable membrane that acts like an extra layer of skin. It helps soften, flatten and smooth raised scars whilst maintaining the moisture balance and elasticity of the adjacent skin. Bought to use after minor operation seems to be working well.
Brilliant. Enhances my healing ability.
I absolutely love this product for scars and burns. I have 2 different types of scars on my right arm. One caused by burning my arm reaching into a hot oven (stupid, I know), the other caused by a rose thorn in my garden. The oven burn was quite deep and remained "fresh" looking for a long time. (I had been on corticosteroids, so my healing ability was quite poor). I decided about 2 months down the line to try this. I was skeptical at first but 3 weeks later, the scar started to matify, and no longer looked like a visible dent in my skin. The colour is still fairly red, but a more paler purplish colour (showing healing). I am encouraged by this greatly. The rose thorn scar is about a year old and is a white line. I have noticed this 'lifting' but not completely gone, which is still good given I've done nothing about it for so long.I found Bolo to have the cheapest price. I paid almost £35 for this in a dermatologist and was glad to find it on here cheaper. It takes time to work, so keep applying it!
Good for moisture, comfortable, not sure about fading
I used Kelo-cote about 3 months after surgery to moisturise long scars on my chest that were a little hypertrophic and to help them fade. I used this for 6 months and honestly - didn’t see much difference in fading, hypertrophy or skin texture. In fact, I swapped products and then noticed an immediate difference at last. However, it did help with the dry skin and itching I had been experiencing and it did reassure me that my skin was protected from the sun appropriately during that summer.In fairness it’s hard to know for sure if a product has (or hasn’t) helped scars or if it’s just time and healing doing its thing, especially in the first year. My scars didn’t get bigger or stretch at least while using it and the added moisture likely helped to prevent further hypertrophy.As a product - it dries fairly quickly (within a few minutes), doesn’t leave any weird texture or stickiness issues and was generally easy to apply. A lot more comfortable than scar strips especially in the summer, and it doesn’t seem to be too affected by sweat, it lasts through the day. The tube is small but lasts a long time as you only need a tiny amount per application.

Amazing cream.
I bought this after a knee replacement for my scar, it is a little tube and expensive but i have to say it is wonderful my scar is healing quickly and you only need a tiny amount so it goes a long way.I have been using this now for 6 weeks and will certainly buy it again when it runs out.Also has a bonus of UV protection.
Brilliant
This item is expensive but you pay for what you get. I broke my wrist (badly smashed) and had an operation to put it back together again. This involved a plate and 15 screws. So, the scar was red and upsetting. I've used this for 3 weeks now...morning and evening and it's brilliant. Scar is now nearly white.I would definately purchase this again.

Seems to be working
I had surgery on the forehead a few weeks ago (incision of a few centimeters), and started applying the gel about 5 weeks after the surgery on the scar (nothing applied the first week, when stitches were still on, and then applied medical micropore tape for 4 weeks after the surface stitches were removed to keep the scar protected and tight/pressured).Gel seems to be making a difference, keeping the scar flatter and less red/whiter, but then it's hard to know how much is related to the scar healing itself or the result of applying the gel twice daily or the combination of both.A very small amount is required twice a day (morning and evening). If too much is put on, it will never dry, so only a very thin layer has to be applied and excess amount wiped (as per the instructions).As such, the larger size tube (15g) sold by Bolo will last many months, and the smaller tube size could be sufficient for most people with small scars.I like the fact that gel includes sun protection, as keeping the scar away from the sun for the first 6 months is important.It's a relatively expensive product (particularly considering the tube size/price per gram), but if it can make a visible scar (face) healing better and fading quicker, it's a good investment.
