The soft alloy dies provided in this kit are not up to the job. The 4.75mm die broke while making my second flare. Very disappointed. The flaring bar is good - but the dies are not. Best to avoid this altogether. I have notified my supplier and will be returning for a refund.

The holes in the grip bar are not correctly sized, leading to oval deformation of the tube - especially when using the larger 1/2" size for AN-8 fittings, which is simply too small for 1/2" OD tube. Attempting to clamp down forcefully leaves the tube in a shape that cannot accomodate a tube nut.

Works great. I have used to do double-flares on 3/8 ...
Works great. I have used to do double-flares on 3/8 steel brake line with no problems. It does not look like the first photo (with a handle and wingnuts, and 7 mandrels) but is like the other photos (with hex head studs and five mandrels). The hex studs are great because you can use a 1/2 inch wrench to tighten things down very securely. I had no slippage of the brake hose (which is apparently a common problem with other units) ... very good clamping power. The back of the package has basic instructions on use, and the plastic tray holds everything nicely for storage.
Flare tool
Bought this to make water lines for my twin wastegates, works nice, would have liked a case instead of the tray but that's my only complaint.
Great tool, works well
Had some trouble with some rubber hose connections on a few line for my E34. Needed to get a tool to reflare the end and before sliding on the fuel rated rubber hosing. Went with this kit. Needless to say it worked fantastically. The tool had sufficient clamping pressure to allow the press to form the bubble flare on steel lines. I have no complaints. Will likely be seeing more action as I replace the fuel line over time. Purchase with confidence.
