5.0 out of 5 stars A classic remastered, beautifully.
This is obviously remastered from the original and it truly is amazing.I imagine there are very few who don't know what Fantasia is, but for those unlucky few, this is a series of animations written the as animators interpretations of pieces of classical music. Including amongst others works, Night on Bald Mountain, The Nutcracker Suite and The Sorcerers Apprentice. The first thing that surprised me was the quality of the film. I used to own the DVD version and the difference is definitely noticeable. Before each piece the conductor gives a short introduction, the thing that surprised me was even though this is a 70+ year old film you could easily imagine it was only shot yesterday, there is no graining of the film, or if there is I couldn't notice it.The animations are beautiful, bear in mind this was at a time when there was no computer imagery, every single frame was hand drawn and painted, it really helps you appreciate the work the animators put into this film. The audio quality is cleaner and crisper, again improved over the past releases. All round this is a beautiful release, and while perhaps not to everyone's taste, I think any home that is missing this film is missing out on a classic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disney at its best
Love the blu-ray and everything in it
5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant film set to great classical music.
I was so pleased to get this dvd as I have never forgotten the last time I saw in a cinema. That last time it was interrupted constantly by a yappy brat in another row.I thought 'The night on Bare Mountain' will shut her up! But, not even Lucifer and Hell could do that....At home I can enjoy it all in peace. The superb classical music and fantasic images have never been matched in our hi tech days.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great service
Fast delivery, as described, was expecting and received the shiny slipcase as pictured. Doesn't always come as picturesd from some sellers. Very happy with the product. Can't wait to bring back some of those old Disney memories I used to get watching them with my mum. Thankyou👍😎
5.0 out of 5 stars Disney's best work and my favourite animated film of all time!
In my opinion, this is Disney's best work. The animation, the music, the atmosphere, the creativity and the overall feeling this film gives me is just incredible. I really enjoy all of the segments, but my personal favourites are the Toccata and Fugue, Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria segments, especially Ave Maria, which is quite possible the most visually striking and emotionally powerful segment ever put in an animated film. Watching this film again just now, I can say that it's my 3rd favourite film of all time, right behind Vertigo and 2001: A Space Odyssey!
1.0 out of 5 stars My PC bluray drive would not play this.
My PC bluray drive would not play this. I'm still trying to figure out why, but returned the item which is something I almost never do.

A Classic For All Time
Every time I watch this masterpiece, I feel like a four year old, as this was the first movie my parents took me to see. I always had vivid memories of all of the segments of the film, in particular, the Night on Bald Mountain and he Rite of Spring segments. Always wanted to own a copy of my own, but Disney had put it "in the vault " for so many years. Had a copy on VHS in the 90s. So when I saw it was available on BluRay I had to have it. I was not disappointed, the picture is so vivid and crystal clear, it looks like it looked when it was first shown in theatres. And the sound, WOW!I have a pretty powerful home theatre sound system, and I'm sure I shook the dust off a few rafters when I watched. Is the highest rating only five stars? I give it seven!
It's the best from Disney
Saw it the first time in a theater in the 1940's. This Blu-ray version is good. I thought the "Ave Maria" was a bit weak, but the rest of the orchestrations were very good for something re-recorded and re-mastered many times sine 1940. Fantastic graphics. I can understand why in the early 1970's, when theaters allowed smoking, the smell of marijuana permeated the air inside theaters showing this film. The animation was WAY advanced for its time--before computers.
